Motor Intelligence Revises Lucid December US Sales Estimate Up 63% to Over 2,400 Units

Motor Intelligence has revised its estimate of Lucid Motors‘ December US sales to 2,415 vehicles, a 62.6% increase from the 1,485 units the platform initially reported on January 5.

The updated figures, which EV identified on Monday, show 1,768 cars — the category including the Lucid Air sedan — and 647 trucks, which includes the Gravity SUV.

The original estimate had listed 1,100 cars and 385 trucks.

Motor Intelligence (MI) adjusted figures only for Lucid among the 48 brands it tracks.

It remains unclear whether the platform incorporated official data from the company, which does not break down sales by month, model, or region.

The revised estimate would represent Lucid‘s strongest month of US sales by a significant margin, far exceeding the previous record implied by the original January 5 figures.

Original Report

MI figures showed on January 5 that Lucid had recorded its best-ever month for US sales, with the then-estimated 1,485 units representing a 90.4% increase from 780 vehicles a year earlier.

The original figures brought Lucid‘s implied fourth-quarter US total to approximately 3,400 units.

With the revised December estimate, that figure would rise to approximately 4,330 units.

Global Context

Lucid said on January 5 that it delivered 5,345 vehicles globally in the fourth quarter, up 31% from the third quarter.

Based on the original Motor Intelligence estimate, EV calculated that approximately 1,945 deliveries occurred outside the US — across Canada, four European markets, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

The revised US figure of 2,415 units would imply international deliveries of approximately 2,930 vehicles for the quarter.

Production Record

Lucid produced 18,378 vehicles in 2025, up 104% from the prior year and above its revised guidance of 18,000 units.

The company delivered 15,841 vehicles globally, up 55% from 10,241 units in 2024.

Fourth-quarter production reached 8,412 vehicles, up 116% from the third quarter, as the company ramped up manufacturing of the Gravity SUV at its Arizona plant.

Five Months of Growth

Lucid‘s US sales have risen for five consecutive months, according to Motor Intelligence data — despite the expiration of $7,500 federal EV tax credit on September 30.

The company sold 910 vehicles in September, rose to 935 in October — the first month without the tax credit — then climbed to 980 in November before the December surge.

Peer Comparison

Among other EV-focused brands tracked by Motor Intelligence, Tesla registered 48,300 vehicles in December, while Rivian. recorded 3,606 units. Neither estimate has been revised since the January 5 release.

Geely-backed Polestar sold 380 vehicles, according to the platform.

Incentive Push

The strong December performance came as Lucid offered significant incentives to US customers.

The company extended its $7,500 Lucid Advantage Credit for Gravity SUV leases through mid-January, giving customers an additional 18 days to take advantage of the offer originally set to expire at year-end.

Earlier this month, Lucid launched a limited-time campaign combining the $7,500 credit with a $5,000 on-site vehicle bonus, bringing total incentives to $12,500 for customers who take delivery by January 18.
