Electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors sold 587 vehicles in the United States in September, down month over month from the 660 recorded in August.

According to Motor Intelligence, the company recorded 608 units of its sedan Lucid Air in June and 697 in July.

The company led by Peter Rawlinson is expected to announce its global delivery figures for the third quarter over the next few days as it aims to produce 9,000 units this year.

Rivian sold 5,195 units (up from 5,133 in August), while Polestar registered 1,100 electric vehicles (up from 704), and Tesla recorded 56,074 (up from 53,160). The Vietnamese automaker VinFast sold 193 vehicles, down from 315 units in August.

In the Netherlands, the company registered 7 electric vehicles for September, data from the Dutch association BOVAG showed on Tuesday. Year to date, the company has registered 38 vehicles in the Dutch market.

Registrations in the German market will be released later this week.

In mid-August, Lucid started selling demo vehicles with hundreds or a dozen of thousands of miles driven with prices starting at $56,998 — about $13,000 below the starting price of the cheaper variant of the Air sedan.

At Morgan Stanley’s 12th Annual Laguna Conference, Lucid’s chief executive reiterated the company’s goal to scale from 9,000 EVs in 2024 to 1 million units in the early 2030s.

Lucid, which is preparing to start deliveries of the second model of Gravity late this year, has recently reaffirmed the annual production guidance of 9,000 vehicles.

With 1,728 vehicles produced in the first quarter and 2,110 vehicles in the second one, the California-based EV maker expects to produce 5,162 vehicles in the second half of the year.
