Lucid Gravity Software Update Introduces Live View, Drive Recorder Beta

US electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors emailed customers on Tuesday, announcing a new software update for their Gravity SUV.

The software update — version 3.3.1 — fixes previously flagged issues with the key fob, strengthens security, and improves the towing experience.

It introduces new features within Lucid Halo Secure, a security-feature meant to monitor and record incidents around the vehicle (similar to Tesla’s Sentry Mode).

According to the release notes, users can now experience Live View and Drive Recorder in beta versions.

Live View, which will be available as a free trial through the end of 2025, allows customers to stream real-time video of the vehicle’s surroundings with the Lucid mobile app, while the Drive Recorder lets users record clips of select events.

Regarding connection, Lucid also mentions that the Gravity’s digital key performance will be improved with the new update.

The upgrade will add new features to improve the towing experience, including a Tow Mode that automatically adjusts vehicle settings to provide better comfort and control.

The Integrated Trailer Brake Control feature will further allow drivers to “stop with confidence when towing trailers equipped with electronic brakes.”

With the Hitch View and Trailer Light Check feature, drivers will be able to “keep an eye on your trailer hitch with an additional option in the Rear View Monitor and verify that your trailer lights work properly.”

According to Lucid, the new update requires users to reach for a service center for a “quick complimentary in-person service.”

User ‘hydbob‘ further added on the Lucid Owners Forum that, while “not in the notes,” the heads-up display (HUD) “is adjustable vertically and dynamic lighting does something now.”

Lucid currently offers the Gravity Grand Touring in the US, which starts from $94,900. The Gravity Touring is expected to launch in its domestic market later this month.

The Touring variant starts at $81,550 including shipping, making it the cheapest version of the three-row SUV.

Last week, the company officially launched the SUV in Europe.

Orders for the brand’s second model opened across Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Norway.

The first customer deliveries are expected in early January, executives said at the model’s regional debut at the IAA Auto Show in Munich.

Prices for the Gravity Touring start at €99,900 ($117,000) for the five-seat configuration.

The Grand Touring version is priced from €116,900 ($136,980), with a fully loaded version reaching €151,550 ($177,700).
