Leapmotor will start selling its B03 electric hatchback in the UK from early 2027, the brand said on Monday as it gave the car its European debut at the Paris Motor Show, without disclosing a price.
The model is a B-segment hatchback with a 53-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery and a WLTP range of up to 242 miles (390 kilometers).
The release did not give an order date, a delivery date or a price.
Stellantis, which controls Leapmotor’s business outside Greater China through the Leapmotor International joint venture, had said on October 5 that Leapmotor would show the B03 and the D19 flagship SUV in Europe for the first time.
The D19, a six-seat range-extender SUV with an 80.3-kilowatt-hour battery that Stellantis said gives more than 300 kilometers of electric driving, has no European launch date.
Leapmotor in Europe
The B03 extends a range that has grown quickly since Leapmotor entered Europe in September 2024 and the UK in March 2025.
Leapmotor had registered more than 11,000 cars in Britain by June, when its 2,150 registrations gave it 1% of the new-car market and 3% of the electric segment, according to the company.
The B10 SUV is its best-selling model in Britain, and private buyers made up more than 63% of its sales in the first half, Leapmotor said, against a target of more than 100 UK retailers by the end of 2026.
Its European retail network passed 1,000 points in 36 countries in September.
Europe accounts for 13% of Leapmotor’s global sales in 2026, Stellantis said on October 5.
At the Paris show, Leapmotor International Chief Executive Officer Danilo Annese set out the brand’s plans for growth and localization in Europe, according to Stellantis.
Leapmotor delivered a record 105,656 vehicles worldwide in September, up 59% from a year earlier, and said it exported more than 27,000 cars in the month and more than 150,000 in the first nine months.
Exports From China
Model-level export figures released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on Monday show where that overseas growth is coming from.
Leapmotor exported 25,923 vehicles across the models listed in the CPCA data in September, up 66.5% from 15,569 in August.
The B10 SUV accounted for 17,598 of them, its highest monthly total of the year and about 68% of the September figure.
B05 exports nearly tripled from August to 4,069, also a 2026 high, while the A10, which is sold in Europe as the B03X, added 2,685 and the C10 1,550.
Third-quarter exports across the listed models rose 20.3% from the second quarter to 56,350, and reached 121,783 in the first nine months, with the B10 accounting for 58%.
Exports of the A05, the B03’s Chinese-market twin, totaled five units in the first nine months, two in June and three in July, while A10 exports reached 9,064.
The D19 shows only two units, both in June.
The CPCA data count shipments from China to all overseas markets, not only Europe, and are not sales to customers.
Their totals are also lower than the export figures Leapmotor reports for itself, a gap the association’s model breakdown does not explain.
The Model
The B03 is the second model on Leapmotor’s Compact Electric Platform, after the B03X crossover, which the company says is due in the UK before the year end.
DC charging peaks at 133 kilowatts, and a 10% to 80% charge takes 21 minutes, according to the release.
Standard equipment includes a 14.6-inch central screen running Leapmotor’s own operating system on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, a heat pump, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera, heated front seats and steering wheel and seven airbags.
The car carries 21 driver-assistance features using 14 sensors and cameras, Leapmotor said.
Inside, a rear seat base that lifts to free 578 millimeters of vertical space, a 90-liter underfloor storage box and a fold-flat front passenger seat are aimed at buyers who need small-car dimensions with more practical space.
Ahead of the show, Stellantis had quoted up to 392 kilometers on the WLTC combined cycle for the larger-battery version, subject to final homologation.
In China, the car is sold as the A05, a hatchback Leapmotor launched in August with prices from 63,900 yuan ($9,500) to 90,900 yuan ($13,600).
The Chinese version shares the B03’s 2,605-millimeter wheelbase and 53-kilowatt-hour battery option but offers motors of up to 90 kilowatts, against 145 kilowatts for the European version.
Above the T03
Vertu Motors, one of Leapmotor’s UK retailers, said on its website in August that the B03 would slot above the T03 city car in Leapmotor’s British lineup when it goes on sale in early 2027.
The T03 was priced at £12,995 ($17,200) on the road after a £3,000 Leap-Grant discount, and the B05 hatchback from £28,995 ($38,400) including a £1,500 grant, Leapmotor said in July.
The company has not said where the B03 will sit between the two.
Where It Will Be Built
Leapmotor has not said where the UK B03 will be made.
The brand’s UK Managing Director, Damien Dally, said in September that British customers will keep receiving cars built in China, while output from Stellantis’s plant in Figueruelas, near Zaragoza, will serve EU markets where Chinese-made EVs face countervailing duties.
Leapmotor said on Monday that production of the B10 SUV had officially started in Zaragoza, its first European manufacturing site.
The plant has an initial capacity of 40,000 cars a year, and Leapmotor’s Global Quality Director, Ding Yongfei, has said it will add the B05, A10 and A05 by 2027.
The list includes the A05, the B03’s Chinese-market version, although Leapmotor has not said whether European B03s will be built in Spain.
The UK does not apply the EU’s countervailing duties to Chinese-built EVs, although ministers have said tariffs are under review.
Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said on September 28 that the question was being looked at “more closely than lots of other” issues and called the decision “finely balanced.”
