Zeekr: Leaked Photos Reveal 7X Facelift Ahead of Release in China

The first images of the revamped version of the Zeekr 7X SUV, launched a year ago, were leaked in Chinese social media this Thursday.

The company announced two months ago that it would be updating its lineup in the fourth quarter, which included not only the 7X, but also the X crossover, the 007 sedan and the 001 station wagon.

Last month, a catalogue by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed some of the vehicle’s specs, including a 900-volt high-voltage system on some of its variants.

The 900V architecture was also used in the plug-in hybrid Zeekr 9X SUV, which debuted a month ago in China.

The Zeekr 7X will feature a new computing chip, switching from Qualcomm’s 8295 Snapdragon to Nvidia’s Thor-U chip.

It will be available in both AWD and RWD versions, with ranges that go from 600 km (373 miles) to 802 km (498 miles).

The first images also revealed minor adjustments to interior and exterior details, which have been confirmed by the leaked pictures.

The first generation of the Zeekr 7X was launched in September 2024, alongside several other five-seat SUVs in the Chinese market — including Onvo‘s debut L60, the Avatr 07, and the Huawei-backed Aito M7.

The Zeekr 7X was released just a few months before the refreshed Tesla Model Y, which has quickly become both the best-selling five-seat SUV in China and the top-selling vehicle across all powertrain types.

In China’s highly competitive market, facelift launches are happening more frequently, as automakers aim to grow demand.

Nio Group‘s Onvo brand recently launched an updated version of the Onvo L60, just a year after its debut and only a month after its second model, the six-seat L90, entered the market.

In China, the Zeekr 7X is priced from 229,900 yuan ($32,000).

Orders for the SUV also opened in in mid-December in European markets, such as Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands, with deliveries starting in May.

The first Zeekr 7X unit shipped to Slovakia set a new charging record in Europe, charging from 10 to 80% in 17 minutes and 54 seconds and reaching a peak power of 413 kW at 12% SoC.

The 7X was also tested in China before, where it reached 450 kW peak charging, taking 12 minutes to go from 0 to 80% SoC.

The SUV recently launched in Australia, five months after the model’s prices were leaked by dealerships in the country. The 7X surpassed 2,500 pre-orders in the country.

Zeekr shareholders have recently approved the Group’s merger with Geely Automobile Holdings.

The company’s delisting from the New York Stock Exchange is expected to take effect later this year.
