The U.S. automaker DeLorean Motor Company unveiled on May 30 the fully EV Alpha 5, the first electric model for the historical company. On Tuesday, the automaker shared the first With over 300 miles of range and a drag coefficient of 0.23 CD, Alpha 5 will make its public debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance in August.


The automaker said the long-awaited concept car is the culmination of a 40+ year history with the prestigious design company Italdesign and DeLorean’s new interpretation of a modern icon.
Images and accompanying details of the vehicle shed light on the dimensions of the car, two of its exterior paint colors, including a launch edition debuting at the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance in August, and the long-awaited specs.


“The Alpha5 is a representation of the past 40 years of DeLorean,” said Troy Beetz, Chief Marketing Officer of DeLorean Motor Company. “There was this enormous responsibility to make sure we honored the history of the DeLorean brand, but an even greater responsibility in curating its future…I think we did both with the Alpha5.”
The company launched its first vehicle to the public in 1981 and subsequently became an iconic brand characterized by its rebellious and trailblazing designs. After 3 generations of evolution, DeLorean embarked on its future trajectory in 2022 with an electric vehicle.
