In the last week of 2024, the Guangzhou-based carmaker XPeng registered over 10,000 vehicles for the first time in its 10-year history. Last week, in the first week of this year, the company outsold Li Auto for the first time, becoming the best-selling new energy vehicle (NEV) startup.
According to data shared on Tuesday by the carmaker Li Auto, XPeng‘s registrations increased to 7,400 units from 7,000 between January 6 and 12.
The figures include 4,300 units of the company’s best selling model, the Mona M03 sedan (4.9% week over week), and 1,950 units of the XPeng P7+, down 3.9% from the first week of the year.

January car sales are expected to decline from November’s levels, reflecting the typical year-end sales surge and reduced production during the eight-day Spring Festival holiday from January 28 to February 4.
A few hours after the first pictures of the refreshed Tesla Model Y, XPeng teased its new fully electric SUV, the G7. The model, expected to be priced at around 250,000 yuan ($34,100), has been spotted in road testing in China over the last weeks.
The company has recently reached 10,000 deliveries in Europe, becoming the first Chinese EV startup to reach the milestone.
