XPeng achieved a new sales record in the German market in December with 426 electric vehicles (EVs) registered, according to data released on Tuesday by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
Year on year, the figures soared by 330% from the 99 units recorded in December 2024.
Following the two strongest months in the largest European automotive market — October with 359 vehicles and November with 351 — December marked the best result since entering the market in May 2024.
The variation in registration figures is mainly driven by logistics scheduling, as most of the vehicles are built in at its plants in China.
However, from September 2025, XPeng has partnered with Magna Steyr to start assembling two models in Graz, Austria.
2025 Performance and Portfolio
XPeng listed a total of 2,990 vehicles in Germany last year, up 660.8% compared to 2024.
The brand also grew in the neighbouring Netherlands, in which XPeng registered 1,402 EVs last year — marking a 49% surge.
The Chinese brand’s line-up in Germany includes two SUVs — the G6 and the G9 — but also a sedan named P7.
The cheapest G6 model is priced from €43,600 ($50,600), while the G9 is available from €59,600 ($69,200), and the P7 sedan starts from €49,600 ($57,998).
The KBA data does not break down the units by model.
As of press time, registration data from the platform EU-EVs was not yet available.
The company refreshed both SUVs in China last year and, in July, began taking orders for the updated models across Europe — including Germany.
Upcoming Models
XPeng is planning to launch five new vehicle models in Europe this year, including a new SUV under the MONA Series, the sedan MONA M03, and its MPV model X9, among others.
Later this week, the refreshed iteration of XPeng’s P7+ model will be launched across 36 countries concurrently.
The prices for this model for the European markets will be unveiled on January 9, during the media day of the Brussels Auto Show.
As reported back in September, at the IAA Auto Show, XPeng opened a new R&D Center in Munich, Germany, becoming the brand’s first in the Old Continent.
XPeng’s Global Growth
The company delivered 37,508 units globally in December – a 2% increase year-over-year.
In 2025, the Chinese automaker delivered a total of 429,445 vehicles, growing exponentially by 126% compared to the previous year.
XPeng sold a total of 45,008 vehicles last year, excluding China, representing a 96% year-over-year rise.
By the end of 2025, XPeng succeeded in achieving its target of growing its presence to 60 countries and regions.
EV Adoption in Germany
A total of 246,439 vehicles were registered in Germany in December, up 9.7% compared to the same month in 2024.
Battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 545,142 registrations, with a market share of 19.1%, representing a 43.2% rise year-on-year.
Additionally, 1,127,509 hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) were sold in 2025 – 39.5% of the total registrations.
Specifically, 311,398 of these units were plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), achieving a 10.9% market share.
Last October, the German ruling coalition (SDP/CDU) had agreed on new EV incentives, with a focus on family incomes.
The goal is to help low- and middle-income households buy zero-emission vehicles worth €3 billion ($3.5 billion) by 2029.
