XPeng’s AeroHT to Start Mass Production of Flying Car in 2026

AeroHT, the company under China’s electric vehicle maker XPeng, hosted an exclusive preview event for its “land carrier” flying vehicle on Tuesday.

Deli Zhao, the founder and president of XPeng AeroHT, shared the story of how his dream of flying. He once worked as a laborer, security guard, and real estate agent.

His passion for flying led him to establish AeroHT in Dongguan in 2013, where he began developing low-altitude manned flying vehicles. In 2020, XPeng Motors founder Xiaopeng He made a investment in AeroHT.

Deli Zhao announced that the XPeng AeroHT “land carrier” flying vehicle is scheduled to complete its first public manned flight during the Zhuhai Airshow in November this year. 

It will be showcased at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November, with pre-sales expected to start by the end of 2024 and mass production and delivery projected to begin in 2026. 

He also mentioned that the company’s Huangpu factory is planned to be completed by July 31 next year, with the first production vehicle rolling off the line. Large-scale deliveries are anticipated to start in 2026, with a price not exceeding 2 million yuan ($274,000).
