Guangzhou-based automaker XPeng sold 5,700 vehicles between May 19 and 25, data shared on Chinese social media this Tuesday revealed.
Registration figures fell 1.9% from the 5,810 units recorded in the second full week of May, remaining below the 6,000-unit mark for a second consecutive week.
Between April 28 and May 25, the He Xiaopeng-led carmaker registered 23,930 units in its home market as it targets monthly global deliveries above 30,000 for a seventh straight month.
Among Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) newcomers, XPeng ranked seventh in weekly sales. Li Auto ranked first with 10,500 vehicles sold last week, while Leapmotor and Xiaomi registered 7,200 and 6,800 units, respectively.
Nio brand listed 3,840 vehicles out of the total 6,530 in the Nio Group. Sub-brands Onvo and Firefly listed 1,560 and 1,130 units, respectively.
The brand outsold Zeekr in the premium EV sector, which registered 3,600 units.
BYD registered over 53,300 fully electric and hybrid models in the week of May 19—25 and remained the best-seller in its home market. Tesla followed with 11,000 vehicles sold last week, down 0.9% from the previous week.
Upcoming Models
Last week, XPeng unveiled its Mona M03 Max model, with deliveries set to begin later this week, on May 28.
The Mona M03 is priced from 119,800 yuan ($16,620), while the Max version will start at about 155,800 yuan ($21,610).
At the first quarter earnings conference call, founder and CEO He Xiaopeng said that the brand will expand its Mona series with “more models” in 2026.
The brand recently unveiled the refreshed version of its P7 sedan, which was first launched in 2019 in its home market. The model, which is set to be priced around 300,000 yuan ($41,600), will launch in the third quarter.
The latest MIIT catalog revealed that the model will be offered in three variants. It is yet unknown whether the brand will also launch an hybrid verson for the sedan — as planned for the X9 MPV.
The company announced it is expanding into Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia through a partnership with Modus Group. XPeng aims to double its presence to 60 markets by year end.
