XPeng registered 114 vehicles in the UK in June, marking its strongest monthly performance since entering the market in February and the first time sales have surpassed 100 units.
In Germany, it also set a new sales record with 240 vehicles last month. In the Nordics, the carmaker sold 346 units in Norway and 72 vehicles in Sweden.
Registrations in the Netherlands tumbled 31.6% year over year to 67 units.
According to data released on Friday by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), XPeng registered just 6 vehicles in the UK in May and 9 in April, following an initial 36 units in March, its first full month in the market.
XPeng launched in the UK with its first-generation G6 SUV, with additional models expected to follow later this year.
The brand’s first right-hand model is available in two variants: starting at £39,990 ($54,600) for the Standard Range variant and £44,990 ($61,500) for the Long Range variant.
EV adoption in the UK rose by 39.1% in June. Fully electric vehicles represented 24.8% of the market — 47,354 out of the 191,316 units registered.
Internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles remained the top choice for British consumers, which purchased 98,745 petrol and diesel vehicles in June. The market share of ICE vehicles was 51.6%.
Volkswagen led the UK market with 16,964 vehicles. Tesla was the best-selling brand among new energy vehicle (NEV) companies, with 7,719 units sold in June — its monthly high year to date.
BYD followed with 4,583 units. Sales from the Chinese giant, which sells both hybrid and fully electric vehicles, soared 557.5% year over year.
Geely-backed Polestar set a new record in the country with 2,595 EVs. The UK market was where the brand sold the most vehicles in June.
XPeng launched on Thursday the highly anticipated G7 SUV in its domestic market, priced between 195,800 yuan and 225,800 yuan ($27,300–$31,500).
The model is positioned between the G6 and G9, which were refreshed earlier this year in China.
The Guangzhou-based brand is bringing the revamped G6 and G9 SUVs to Europe in a few weeks. However, a timeline for the UK launch of the G9 SUV and the revamped version of the G6 was not yet mentioned.
XPeng delivered 34,611 vehicles globally in June, a 224% surge year over year. The brand set an annual delivery target of 380,000 units for 2025 and reached 56% of the goal in the first half of the year.
The automaker is present in 18 European markets, having just launched in Italy, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. It aims to expand to 60 markets by year-end.
