XPeng registered 72 vehicles in Sweden last month, according to data released by Mobility Sweden on Tuesday.
Sales rose 157.1% year over year, from 28 vehicles. However, June figures tumbled 32.1% from May, when the Guangzhou-based brand sold 106 units — a new record year to date.
June marked the first month of sales decline in the country, as registrations had been steadily increasing since the beginning of the year.
In the first half of 2025, XPeng registered 479 units in the country. The brand launched in the Swedish market in February 2022.
Sales were driven by the brand’s G6 SUV — which represented 49 of the total units sold. The entry-level SUV is priced from 529,900 SEK, equivalent to about $55,700.
The remaining 23 units were G9 SUVs. Prices for the model begin at 719,900 SEK ($75,700).
The brand’s lineup in the Swedish market also includes the P7 sedan, however the brand didn’t register any unit from the model in June. The model, which is being updated in China, is priced from 599,900 SEK ($63,100).
XPeng launched refreshed versions of both SUVs late last year in China. Earlier this month, the brand announced that the new iterations will be coming to Europe.
Last week, XPeng officially launched in Italy, already featuring the updated versions of the G6 and G9.
Orders for the new G6 and G9 open in mid-July across European markets.
The automaker is now present in 17 European markets, and recently announced expansion to Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia.
XPeng delivered 34,611 vehicles in June, a 224% soar from a year ago. Considering the numbers from April and May, 103,181 XPeng units were rolled out in the second quarter — staying within its guidance of between 102,000 to 108,000 vehicles.
The best-selling model in the Swedish market last month continued to be the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Volvo XC60 SUV, with over 1,700 units registered.
Volvo‘s EX/XC40, which is available as both a PHEV and battery electric (BEV) model, accounted for 938 units.
Tesla’s Model Y outperformed Volkswagen‘s ID.7, which was the best-selling EV in May. The U.S. brand’s SUV took the third place in the ranking and was the best-selling EV in June, with 867 units.
Tesla’s lineup in the Swedish market already includes the refreshed iteration of the model, however, inventory units of the previous version are still available.
Polestar, which is backed by China’s Geely Holding Group but headquartered in Gothenburg, ranked as the tenth best-selling brand in Sweden with 1,010 EVs sold.
Regarding pure EV makers, it’s above Tesla, which sold 976 units — a 64.4% plunge year over year.
competitors swedenPremium brand Zeekr, sold 155 vehicles in June, up 36 units from May. Its competitor Nio saw registrations fall to 1 unit in the market last month.
BYD, which sells both hybrid and fully electric vehicles, sold 206 units last month — more than doubling from the 76 units it had registered in May.
Last month, 27,565 vehicles were sold in Sweden. Battery electric vehicles accounted for 10,725 units, representing 39.0% of the market. Their share is up 17.6% from a year ago.
Out of the total, 7,264 units were plug-in hybrids, which had a 26.4% market share.
