XPeng Sweden Posts Strongest Monthly Sales of 2025 With 106 EVs

XPeng sold 106 units in the Swedish market last month, surpassing 100 monthly units for the first time this year.

Data released by Mobility Sweden showed that sales more than doubled (+141%) from a year ago, when the brand sold 44 vehicles.

The brand increased sales by 8 units in April compared to March, and added another 8-unit gain in May over April.

Registrations have grown steadily over the past five months, with XPeng reaching a new sales record in Sweden last month. From January 1 to May 31, it registered 407 units in the country.

Out of the 106 units, 78 were G6s — meaning that nearly 4 out of 5 the vehicles sold were the brand’s entry-level SUV. It is priced from 529,900 SEK, equivalent to about $55,300.

XPeng sold 27 G9 SUVs, its most expensive model yet in Sweden, with prices beginning at 719,900 SEK ($75,100).

The only sedan in the brand’s Swedish lineup is the P7, which is priced from 599,900 SEK ($61,600). The company sold one unit last month.

XPeng has launched refreshed iterations of its G6 and G9 SUVs, and recently unveiled the revamped P7 sedan in China. It is still unknown when the models will reach international markets.

XPeng aims to double its presence to 60 markets by year-end. Last week, the brand announced expansion to Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia, less than two weeks after confirming the entry into Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

XPeng delivered 33,525 vehicles in May, up 230% from a year earlier. As of the last day of May, the automaker had reached 42.8% of its annual target of 380,000 units delivered globally.

Sweden’s best-selling model is the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Volvo XC60 SUV, with over 2,000 units registered. Volkswagen‘s ID.7 is the best-selling EV in the country and the second best-selling model overall, with almost 1000 units.

Polestar ranked as the tenth best-selling brand in Sweden with 613 EVs listed. Regarding pure EV makers, it’s above Tesla, which sold 503 units — a 53.7% plunge year over year.

The brand is then followed by premium brand Zeekr. The brand, also backed by China’s Geely Holding Group, sold 119 vehicles last month, a 88.9% surge year over year.

Its competitor Nio sold 2 units in Sweden last month, same as April and down from the 18 vehicles registered in May 2024.

BYD, which sells both hybrid and fully electric vehicles, sold 76 units last month — a jump of 52% year over year.

Volvo was the best-selling brand in May, with over 5,000 vehicles registered. The brand’s plug-in hybrid XC60 and its fully electric EX40 were the top two models, with 1,580 and 1,218 units registered, respectively.

Last month, over 25,600 vehicles were sold in Sweden. Battery electric vehicles accounted for 9,469 units, representing 36.9% of the market.

Hybrid vehicles, including plug-in hybrid models, closely followed with 9,457 units sold, a 33.9% market share.
