XPeng Sells 105 EVs in the Netherlands in April, Marking Best Month of 2025

XPeng sold 105 vehicles last month in the Netherlands, marking its strongest month this year — data from the automotive association BOVAG showed on Friday.

The Chinese carmaker, which opened its first store in the Dutch market exactly three years ago, saw its monthly sales jump 72.1% year over year and 20.7% from March.

The Guangzhou-based brand sold 79 units of its G6 model and 24 G9s. The G6, XPeng‘s cheapest SUV, is available from €42,990 ($48,800), while the G9 starts at €59,990 ($68,100).

The company registered only two units of its P7 sedan, the same amount it had sold in the same month last year. The model is priced from €49,990, equivalent to $56,900.

Year to date, XPeng sold 351 vehicles in the Dutch market, up 13.6% from the same period last year.

EV Adoption

Hybrid models amounted to nearly half of Dutch vehicle sales in April, with 13,329 units in a total of about 27,000 (49.1%). Battery electric vehicles represented a 33.9% market share, with 9,206 EVs.

Over 22,500 of the total cars sold in April were NEVs — which accounted for 83% of the market.

The best-selling brand in the Netherlands was Kia. Even considering only its recently launched fully electric model, EV3, sales surpassed Tesla, which sold 382 vehicles last month, down 73.8% from a year ago.

Competitors

BYD remains the best-selling Chinese brand in the Netherlands and worldwide. In April, the brand sold 268 hybrid and fully electric vehicles. Geely-backed Polestar follows with 170 vehicles registered, up 12% year over year.

Premium brand Zeekr recorded 80 units in the Dutch market last month, one unit down from March but a 29% increase year over year, while its main competitor Nio‘s sales fell to 2 vehicles in April.

The Shanghai-based EV maker’s sales plunged 91% from a year earlier, marking its lowest figures since arriving in the Netherlands.

Europe Expansion

XPeng arrived in Europe in 2021, via Norway, and has since expanded to Germany, France, the UK and several other markets. In March, the brand entered Poland, currently its biggest market in Eastern Europe.

The company also launched in Switzerland, Czech Republic and Slovakia and aims to expand to Italy, according to a statement by VP Brian Gu in mid-April, in an effort to bring XPeng to 60 markets this year — double from 2024.

April Global Figures

XPeng delivered over 35,000 vehicles in April, soaring 273% year over year, and surpassing the 30,000 unit mark for the sixth consecutive month.

Founder and CEO He Xiaopeng said earlier this year that he is “confident” about more than doubling last year’s delivery figures to 380,000 units this year. With April numbers, the company has reached 34% of the guidance.
