XPeng Says X9 Electric MPV to Arrive in UK This Summer, Adds to G6 Lineup

XPeng announced on Thursday that it will debut the X9 MPV in the UK this Summer, becoming its second model in the country since it launched in the market a year ago with the G6 SUV.

The UK was the first confirmed market for the European debut of the fully electric seven-seater — which is offered in both battery electric (BEV) and extended-range (EREV) versions in China.

Built in XPeng‘s SEPA2.0 800-volt electrical architecture, the X9 is aimed at families and business customers seeking long-range electric capability in a larger format, the company stated.

The Guangzhou-based brand’s product strategy for the United Kingdom in 2026 also includes the debut of the second-generation G6.

Just a few weeks after the unveiling of the third-generation for both the G6 and G9 SUVs in China, the prior iteration will arrive in the UK “in the first quarter.”

The second-gen G6 was launched in its domestic market in March and debuted across Europe in mid last year.

According to XPeng UK, the refreshed G6 will include a Dual-Motor AWD Performance ‘Black Edition’ version.

The variant will offer a combined power of 358kW and 660Nm of torque, enabling an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 4.13 seconds.

The new iteration will keep its pricing unchanged from the previous one, starting at £39,990 ($55,200).

Meanwhile, the Dual-Motor AWD Performance ‘Black Edition’ will be priced from £49,990 – equivalent to $69,000.

Upcoming Models

The automaker said it is planning to unveil several new models later this year in the market.

XPeng UK’s Sales Director Jonny Miller described 2026 as a “defining moment” in the brand’s “global and European expansion and product strategy.”

“We are committed to expanding consumer choice in the UK with vehicles that deliver not only world-class electric performance, but also industry-leading smart functionality, technology, design, and real-world usability,” the executive emphasized.

Miller assured that XPeng will continue growing its retail network this year, with strategic plans to expand it to “locations convenient for [its] future customers”, such as London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, and Edinburgh.

In the UK, the Chinese brand partnered with domestic automotive company International Motors Ltd.

The distributor also represents Mitsubishi Motors, Subaru, Isuzu, and GWM Group.

UK Debut and Sales

XPeng entered the UK market nearly a year ago, in February 2025, introducing only one model — its more affordable G6 SUV, in right-hand drive (RHD).

The model was also launched in Ireland a month earlier.

Between its debut and last December, the brand delivered 900 vehicles in the UK, data released earlier this month by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showed.

In December alone, XPeng‘s sales rose 65% to 150 units, marking its second strongest monthly results in the country.

The record – 281 units – was achieved three months prior.

Other RHD Markets

XPeng is present across other RHD markets in Asia, including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong, which it entered in 2024.

In these countries, the company offers the RHD version of its G6 and X9 models.

The right-hand drive version of the MPV was first launched in Singapore a year ago.

Last December, XPeng announced that it would launch its first assembly line in Malaysia.

In partnership with the local manufacturing conglomerate EPMB Group, the facility will produce RHD versions of the G6 and X9.

The Malaysian plant is the Guangzhou-headquartered company’s third overseas production factory, after Indonesia and Austria, and its first for RHD assembly.

Global Exports

Last month, XPeng exported a total of 45,008 vehicles worldwide, representing a 96% increase year over year.

The G6 was at the forefront of the brand’s portfolio with a 68% market share. It was followed by the G9, with a 17% share, and the X9, at 13%.

In the full year, XPeng sold 429,445 units, staying 13% above its issued delivery guidance of 380,000 vehicles in 2025.

For this year, the Chinese company aims to sell between 550,000 and 600,000 vehicles globally.
