XPeng Reaches 2,000 Deliveries in France One Year After Entering Market

Chinese carmaker XPeng has delivered its 2,000th car in the French market, as it continues to expand across Europe.

The information was revealed on X by Brian Gu, co-president and vice-chairman of the brand, who shared that “2,000 French drivers are now part of the XPeng family.”

“With 53 stores already operational, we’re committed to ensuring every French customer has access to our sales and service network within a 45-minute drive,” Gu added in the post.

In the beginning of the year, marketing director Thomas Rodier told local media outlet Automobile Propre that the company aims to sell 3,500 vehicles in the country in 2025, while doubling dealerships from 30 to 60—70 locations.

“The goal is for every person in France to have a XPeng dealership within an hour’s drive,” Rodier had already stated.

The company “quickly signed agreements with reputable partners, like Jean Lain [Mobilités] in the Rhône-Alpes region,” according to the director. Jean Lain distributes Stellantis-backed brands, Toyota and Hyundai models as well.

XPeng officially entered the French market in June 2024, with a mixed business model.

About eight months ago, founder and CEO He Xiaopeng noted on LinkedIn that the company had opened its first flagship store in Paris, where he “had the honor to deliver a G9 to the first XPeng owner in Paris.”

The brand’s lineup in the country includes its G6 and G9 SUVs. Earlier this month, XPeng opened orders for the refreshed iterations of the models in several European markets, with deliveries set to start “at the end of the summer.”

France is one of them. The new G6 is priced from €46,990 ($54,750), while the more expensive G9 starts at €59,990 ($69,900).

According to the French Automobile Manufacturers Committee (CCFA), XPeng registered 391 vehicles in the country in June, a new monthly sales record since it entered the market a year before.

From January 1 to June 30, the Guangzhou-based brand delivered 1,450 vehicles in the country.

XPeng sold 1,693 vehicles across its European markets last month, a 48.8% increase from May’s 1,138 units — excluding Finland, where registration data was not yet available as of Monday.

A year before, June sales totaled 627 vehicles, as XPeng was active in fewer markets. Over the last twelve months, XPeng began sales in several markets including not only France but Germany, Portugal, Spain, the UK, Ireland, Finland, among others.

The brand recently launched in Italy, Slovakia and Czech Republic — with the first registrations in these markets expected to be reported this month.

XPeng also announced is entering Latvia, Lithuania and EstoniaHungary, Slovenia and Croatia.

Earlier this year, He Xiaopeng announced that the company aims to double its presence to 60 markets and 300 service points worldwide by year-end.

Last week, the Chinese automaker XPeng updated its hiring plans for this year, increasing the number of new hirings from 6,000 to 8,000, the company said in an internal event.
