XPeng Pushes AU$5,000 Incentive to Clear Australian G6 Inventory

XPeng is offering Australian customers zero-percent financing or a AU$5,000 ($3,250) cashback incentive on its first-generation G6 SUV as the Chinese carmaker works to clear inventory ahead of introducing the updated model in the market.

Customers who order the current G6 by December 1 can choose between zero-percent financing for up to 24 months or a AU$5,000 reduction applied to the purchase price.

Alternatively, buyers can opt for a direct cashback paid 30 days after delivery to use for accessories, charging equipment or other purposes.

The campaign also includes five years or 100,000 kilometers of free scheduled servicing, whichever comes first.

The aggressive incentives suggest XPeng is moving to liquidate first-generation inventory before the arrival of updated models already selling in China, Europe and other right-hand drive markets.

The company launched second-generation versions of both the G6 and G9 SUVs in China in June, with European sales beginning a month later.

However, it remains unknown when the company will begin deliveries of the latest iteration in Australia.

Global Rollout

XPeng has been introducing the new iterations in overseas markets in stages over recent months.

Deliveries of the updated models have begun in Germany, France, Norway and several other European markets in the last few months.

The company recently launched the refreshed G6 in Malaysia, a year after the previous iteration debuted in the right-hand drive market.

Malaysia became the second right-hand drive market to offer the updated G6, following the start of sales in Thailand in late August.

The second-generation G6 features significant technical upgrades, including an 800-volt electrical architecture and 5C fast charging capability, referring to the ability to charge at five times the battery capacity per hour.

The new model offers an extended range of 435 to 570 kilometers on a single charge depending on configuration.

The improvements allow the vehicle to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes under optimal conditions.

The promotion specifies that offers are available on current G6 vehicles ordered by December 1 and delivered by December 31, 2025, and cannot be combined or redeemed for cash equivalents.
