XPeng Norway Sets New Sales Record in June With 346 Vehicles

Chinese carmaker XPeng sold 346 vehicles last month in Norway, a 235.9% jump when compared to the same period a year ago, data from the national association OFV showed this Tuesday.

June marked XPeng’s best sales month in Norway since its market debut three years ago.

The previous record had been reached in April, when it listed 333 units, followed by September 2024, when it recorded 303 vehicles.

In the first half of the year, the Guangzhou-based carmaker registered 1,667 vehicles in the country with the largest EV adoption.

From the total of 326 units, 206 were G6s — which was the 20th best-selling model in the market. The entry level SUV is priced from NOK 387,778, equivalent to about $38,400.

XPeng Norway is currently running a campaign on financing of the G6 Rear Wheel Drive Standard Range, to which it is applying a 0.99% interest rate.

The brand’s lineup in the Nordic market also includes its G9 SUV and the P7 sedan, with prices beginning at NOK 510,084 ($50,500) and NOK 439,900 ($43,600), respectively.

XPeng said deliveries of the refreshed versions of the G6 and G9 SUVs, which were unveiled earlier this year in China, would begin in “mid-July” in Europe.

The company recently launched in Italy, with a lineup that includes both new iterations.

XPeng sold 72 vehicles in Sweden last month, up 157.1% year over year, despite a sequential drop from the 106 units registered in May.

The brand announced on Tuesday that it delivered XPeng delivered 34,611 vehicles in June, a 224% soar from a year ago.

XPeng rolled out 103,181 units in the second quarter — in-line with the guidance of between 102,000 to 108,000 vehicles.

Norway is the world’s leading country when it comes to EV adoption. In June, 96.9% of new vehicle registrations were fully electric models.

XPeng was the fifteenth best-selling brand in the Swedish market, having been surpassed by Geely-backed Polestar last month. Polestar sold 774 vehicles in June.

Volkswagen was the best-selling brand in Norway up until May. In June, Tesla surpassed the legacy automaker,

Tesla sold 5,646 EVs in Norway last month, the brand’s best result in over two years, while VW registered 1,956 vehicles.

Both in June and year to date, the U.S. brand’s figures are about 3,000 units above Volkswagen.

Tesla‘s Model Y was the best-selling model in the country for the fourth consecutive month, with a record high of 5,004 units sold. It was followed by Toyota’s BZ4X and Volkswagen‘s ID.4, which represented 825 and 714 units, respectively.
