XPeng delivered 33,525 vehicles in May, up 230% from a year earlier, despite a 4.3% decline from April’s 35,045 units.
May marked the seventh consecutive month that the Guangzhou-based company exceeded the 30,000-unit threshold.
The strong year-on-year growth was driven largely by demand for the Mona M03, XPeng’s most affordable model to date launched last August.
The model, which this week added a new Max trim, reached 100,000 units delivered in just 216 days after its launch.
This year, the company has unveiled refreshed versions of its G6 and G9 SUVs, the X9 MPV, and the P7 sedan.
Cumulative deliveries for the first five months of 2025 reached 162,578 units, representing a 293% increase compared to the same period last year.
As of the end of May, XPeng had achieved 42.8% of its full-year target of 380,000 units, a figure CEO He Xiaopeng said earlier this year he was “confident” the company could reach.
During its first-quarter earnings report last week, XPeng projected second-quarter deliveries between 102,000 and 108,000 units. Based on April and May results, the company is targeting between 33,430 and 39,430 units for June.
Earlier this year, CEO He Xiaopeng said he was “confident” about doubling 2024’s figures, which would represent about 380,000 units delivered in 2025.
As of the last day of May, the automaker has reached 42.8% of the annual target with 162,578 vehicles sold globally.
The company also aims to double its presence to 60 markets by year-end. This week, XPeng announced expansion to Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia, less than two weeks after confirming the entry into Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
