XPeng announced on Monday that it has rolled out a “Mobile Charging Station” partner program in China for its recently debuted extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) X9.
V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging allows one electric vehicle to transfer energy directly to another, a capability within the broader V2X (vehicle-to-everything) ecosystem.
The Guangzhou-headquartered brand is inviting owners to volunteer V2V charging support during the Lunar New Year travel rush, which runs from February 2 to March 13.
XPeng confirmed on Monday that 1,000 X9 owners have signed up for the program.
