XPeng Launches in the Czech Republic Continuing the European Expansion

China’s carmaker XPeng said on Tuesday that it has officially entered the Czech Republic, its 18th European market.

The brand had announced its arrival in the country back in February, when it also said it was entering Slovakia and Switzerland. For the three markets, XPeng will partner with local distributor Hedin Mobility Group.

Last week, the company held a launch event in Italy, where its lineup includes the upgraded iterations of the G6 and G9 SUVs.

The models were refreshed three months ago in China. Earlier last month, XPeng said that orders for the updated G6 and G9 SUVs in Europe are opening in “mid-July.”

However, as it officially expanded to Slovakia, the Guangzhou-based brand revealed a lineup including the prior versions of both SUVs, plus the P7 sedan — which is set to be updated later this year in its domestic market.

As of Tuesday, the Czech Republic website for XPeng features the previous iteration of both SUVs.

The G6 SUV will be priced from 1,119,900 Czech crowns ($52,430), while the G9 begins at 1,499,900 Czech crowns ($71,000). The P7 sedan will start from 1,229,900 Czech crowns ($57,580).

Shanghai-based Nio Group announced last month that it is also expanding to the Czech Republic with both its main Nio brand and the newly launched Firefly.

XPeng announced on Tuesday that it delivered 34,611 vehicles in June, up both sequentially and year over year. Registrations soared 224% from June 2024.

The automaker exceeded the 30,000-unit threshold for the eighth consecutive month.

In Sweden, the brand sold 72 vehicles last month — down from the 106 vehicles it had registered a month before, but 157.1% up from the same period last year.

In Norway, XPeng listed 346 vehicles, up 30 units from May and the triple units it sold a year ago.

After arriving in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands, the brand has expanded to eleven markets in the past twelve months. It includes countries like Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, the UK, Ireland, among others.

Last month, the automaker announced expansion to Latvia, Lithuania, EstoniaHungary, Slovenia and Croatia, through distribution agreements with Modus Group and AutoWallis.

XPeng is launching the highly anticipated G7 SUV this Thursday, July 3.

The brand opened pre-orders for the model in China earlier this month, at a presale price of 235,800 yuan ($32,800). The model is positioned to rival Tesla’s Model Y and Xiaomi’s YU7.
