XPeng has expanded to Colombia, which becomes its 55th global market and third in America, after entering Guatemala and Uruguay earlier this year.
The company is now just five markets away from reaching its annual target of doubling its market presence to 60 countries.
The Chinese carmaker quietly debuted in the country last week, during the BogotĆ” Auto Show, through the local distributor Inchcape.
The sales and service network will first include a showroom in BogotĆ” (set to open in January) with additional stores planned for Cali and MedellĆn three months later.
Lineup
The first models to be introduced in the market are the second generation G6 and G9 SUVs.
The more affordable G6 will be offered in two versions, according to local media outlet El Carro Colombiano.
The G6 Air trim is priced from 164,990,000 Colombian pesos (equivalent to $43,260), while the Pro iteration will start at 182,990,000 pesos ($48,400).
Only the dual-motor G9 Performance Pro version has been reported in Colombian media so far, and it is still unclear whether additional versions will be released in the country.
According to El Tiempo, the Performance Pro starts at 254,990,000 Colombian pesos ($67,490).
EVs in Colombia
The brandās expansion into the South American market coincides with that of the US company Tesla, which opened orders last week.
Its best-selling Model Y SUV is available in both RWD and AWD versions, with prices starting at 119,990,000 Colombian pesos ā about $32,000, roughly $10,000 less than XPengās cheapest G6.
In the first half of 2025, the best-selling brands in the electric segment were Japanese brands such as Toyota, Mazda and Suzuki.
The Chinese giant BYD was also among the top-4 after having debuted in Colombia in mid-2024.
According to Reuters, the Shenzhen-headquartered company already leads electric vehicle sales in Colombia, as well as in Brazil, Ecuador, and Uruguay.
It has recently entered Argentina, where the delivery capacity for 2025 has quickly sold out.
XPeng entered Uruguay in April 2025, partnering with the Paraguayan automotive group Santa Rosa. The dealer represents Stellantis-backed EV maker Leapmotor in both countries.
A month earlier, the Guangzhou-based automaker had been present in the Guatemala Auto Show, also with both the G6 and G9 models.
XPeng is also considering expansion to Brazil, as confirmed by Chairman and President Brian Gu in September, after a report by local media outlet AutoEsporte.
However, no timeline has been revealed for the market launch.
