XPeng Launches 2026 G6 in the UK, Prices Start at $54,000

XPeng launched the updated G6 model in the United Kingdom on Thursday, exactly a year after the Chinese automaker entered the market.

In announcing the debut of the battery electric (BEV) crossover SUV, the company wrote on LinkedIn that it marked a “new chapter for UK roads.”

“We’re dedicated to bringing XPeng‘s vision of future mobility to the UK and beyond,” the Chinese automaker stated.

The starting price is £39,990 — equivalent to $54,000.

The refreshed G6 will be equipped with an 80.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a WLTP range of up to 525 km (326 miles).

Built on an 800V high-voltage platform, combined with a next-generation 5C battery, the SUV can charge from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes, achieving a peak charging power of 451kW.

The new iteration will include, for the first time, an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) Performance ‘Black Edition’.

The version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.1 seconds, offering a dark styling package, which “combines speed and style”, as stated by XPeng.

The 2026 G6 was originally launched in China on January 8, alongside the revamped G9 SUV, the updated P7+ sedan, and the extended-range electric (EREV) variant of the G7 SUV.

Offered in ‘Starlight Grey’ with a ‘Mystery Blue’ interior, the model for the domestic market includes active noise cancellation technology and is marketed as an “all-round pure electric sportback SUV.”

The model is currently priced from 176,800 yuan ($25,800) in the world’s largest automotive market.

The latest iteration debuted across Europe mid-last year.

January Announcement

In late January, XPeng announced this year’s product strategy for the UK, mentioning that the 2026 G6 would be released “during the first quarter of 2026.”

The brand also noted that it will introduce the fully electric version of the X9 MPV in the country mid-year.

Amid the announcement, the company stated that the new iteration of the crossover SUV, with more than “20,000 incremental developments over its predecessor”, would introduce “next-generation technologies, enhanced performance, [and] refined design.”

According to XPeng UK, the refreshed G6 would also include the AWD Performance ‘Black Edition’, with high-performance dual motors capable of achieving a combined 358kW of power and 660Nm of torque.

At the time, the company listed the starting prices for each new iteration of the model: the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Standard Range from £39,990 ($54,200), the Long Range from £44,990 ($61,000), and the special edition from £49,990 ($67,700).

X9 Debut

In late January, XPeng announced that the BEV version of the X9 is set be launched in the UK this Summer.

Once debuted, it will become the Chinese brand’s second model in the country.

The SUV is expected to enter other European markets later this year.

The X9 was first launched in China in January 2024, with only the fully electric powertrain available.

The 2025-model-year was introduced last April in the automaker’s domestic market, and the latest iteration will debut on March 2 [NEW LINK].

The company unveiled the EREV variant of the X9 at the start of November 2025, with the market launch occurring later that month.

Future Models and Growth

Apart from the refreshed G6 and the new X9 BEV, XPeng is planning to launch several new models in the UK market this year.

The UK division’s Sales Director Jonny Miller called 2026 a “defining moment” in the brand’s global and European expansion.

To support this growth, the company will expand its retail network in the country to key cities, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, and Edinburgh.

UK Sales

XPeng recorded no UK registrations in January, according to the latest data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The result compared with 150 units sold last December.

However, since its debut exactly a year ago, the Chinese automaker has achieved a total of 900 registrations.

The strongest result was achieved in September 2025, with 281 units delivered.

It was followed closely by October and December, when the company listed 150 vehicles in both months.
