XPeng said on Wednesday it has officially launched in Slovakia, marking its entry into the market following a February announcement of its partnership with European distributor Hedin Mobility Group.
The company has entered the Eastern European country with its flagship SUVs, the G6 and G9, and the P7 sedan.
XPeng announced earlier this month that it is bringing the refreshed iterations of the two SUVs to Europe in “mid-July,” four months after launching in its domestic market.
The models have debuted in Italy, where the Guangzhou-based brand also launched yesterday.
However, in Slovakia, both SUVs will be available in their previous version. The brand is expected to release the new iterations in the Slovak market later this year.
The G6 SUV is priced from €45,990, equivalent to $53,380. The flagship SUV G9 is priced from €59,990 — about $69,630.
The P7 sedan, which debuted five years ago and will be refreshed this year, starts at €48,990 ($56,860). There is still no timeline for the European launch of the updated version.
XPeng is now present in 17 European markets. By the time it said it was launching in Slovakia, the company also announced it was entering Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
The brand is preparing to enter the Czech market, where it will offer the same three models.
The G6 SUV will be priced from 1,119,900 Czech crowns ($52,430), while the P7 sedan will start from 1,229,900 Czech crowns ($57,580).
The G9, which is also shown in the website, does not include pricing details yet.
The automaker sold 1,438 electric vehicles across ten European markets in May, according to data compiled by EV. It represented a fourfold increase year over year, driven by the brand’s expansion in the continent.
In April, the Chinese carmaker announced it would enter the Polish market through a partnership with Inchcape later this year.
Last month, company said it is entering Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia, through distribution agreements with Modus Group and AutoWallis.
XPeng aims to more than double the number of countries it operates in from 30 to 60 and to double annual vehicle deliveries to over 380,000 this year.
