XPeng Begins Deliveries of New P7 in China Ahead of European Debut

Chinese carmaker XPeng began deliveries in China of its newly launched refreshed sedan P7, twelve hours after the official launch event took place at the company’s EV plant in Guangzhou.

The new P7 — which will make its European debut in early September together with the humanoid robot ‘IRON’ — secured more than 10,000 firm orders in the first seven minutes.

Answering to a Weibo post joking about the short timeframe between the offical launch event and first deliveries, XPeng‘s founder and CEO He Xiaopeng announced the first units had been handed over on early Thursday nationwide.

“Haha, dear XPeng P7 owners, you can get up now to handle vehicle pickup — nationwide deliveries have already begun,” He Xiaopeng wrote.

The founder and CEO delivered the first batch to customers in Guangzhou, where the brand is headquartered.

The first iteration of the sedan was launched in 2020 with a second one named P7i following in 2023.

Last week, He Xiaopeng announced that the refreshed P7 has achieved record pre-order numbers, the highest of any model since the company was founded 11 years ago.

With prices starting at 219,800 yuan ($30,700), the model features an 800-volt platform and features up to 820 kilometers of range on China’s CLTC cycle. It can add 525 km in just 10 minutes at a compatible fast charger, the company said.

The new version starts at 219,800 yuan ($30,700) for the P7 702 Ultra (Long Range) edition.

The 820 Ultra (Extra Long Range) is priced at 239,800 yuan ($33,500), while the 750 Ultra AWD Performance retails for 259,800 yuan ($36,300).

The top-end 750 Ultra AWD Wing Edition is listed at 301,800 yuan ($42,200).
