He Xiaopeng, XPeng CEO and XPeng AEROHT Chairman, announced Monday on Weibo the opening of the trial production factory ahead of the official roll-out in 2024. XiaoPeng mentioned that the EV maker XPeng was in the same phase of the process four years ago when also opened a trial production plant with a similar scale.

“The new trial production pilot plant was officially opened today. History sometimes keeps circulating. Four years ago, XPeng Motors also rented a trial production pilot plant of a similar scale, but the technology and equipment are quite different”, He Xiaopeng said.

Although he enhanced the technology and the equipment used in both cases, “For example, in the picture, for carbon fiber materials, the hot pressing tank that works at 7 atmospheres is rarely used in the original automobile process. Technology will change lives, and miracles will happen if you persist!”.

Last April, the company made the European debut of the flying car XPeng X2 at the eCarExpo in Stockholm, Sweden. AT the event, Xiaopeng said the model “will go into mass production and deliver to customers in 2024”.

“The X2 is a two-seater eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) flying car. It is equipped with an intelligent flight control system and autonomous flight capability. The X2 is the latest generation of flying cars developed independently by XPENG AEROHT. But a more exciting product is the sixth generation flying car, which can travel on a road and fly in the sky. It can easily switch to drive and flight modes. It will go into mass production and deliver to customers in 2024.” said He Xiaopeng, the Chairman of XPeng.

“Since Europe is one of our important markets, we consider launching our latest product information in Europe first. And we are looking forward to having our first flight in Europe in the near future.” said Zhao Deli, Founder & President of XPENG AEROHT.

In October 2021, the company announced that raised over $500 million in a funding round led by IDG Capital, 5Y Capital, and XPeng Inc. with participation of Sequoia China, Eastern Bell Capital, GGV Capital, GL Ventures, and Yunfeng Capital.

“The Series A financing will provide us with sufficient resources to advance our research and development, acquire top-tier talent, and continue to gain airworthiness provision and certification,” said Mr. Deli Zhao, Founder, and President of XPeng AEROHT.
