XPeng Aims for 20K Monthly Mona M03 Units by Early 2025, CEO Says

Xiaopeng He, founder and CEO of the Guangzhou-based electric vehicle (EV) maker XPeng, said on Friday that monthly production capacity for the Mona M03 model will reach 20,000 units by the Chinese New Year, which takes place between January 28 and February 4.

Production capacity for the model increased by 40% this month, the chief executive said during media day at the Guangzhou Auto Show, after the company registered the strongest order backlog in its history. Earlier this month, the record was again broken by the new flagship sedan, the P7+.

At the Auto Show, the chief executive said that the M03 sedan is designed for younger drivers, with more than 50% of its users under the age of 30. The model starts at 119,800 yuan ($16,575), while the “Max” variant is priced at 155,800 yuan, equivalent to $21,550.

Since its launch on August 27, the Mona M03 has delivered over 10,000 units per month in both September and October, accounting for nearly half of XPeng’s total output, which hit a record 23,917 vehicles in October.

In addition to the Mona M03, XPeng launched a new flagship sedan, the P7+, within the past three months, further strengthening its lineup in the competitive Chinese EV market.
