Xiaopeng He, CEO of Guangzhou-based EV maker XPeng, announced Tuesday that the company’s new and cheaper model, the Mona M03, will officially launch on August 27.
Earlier this week, the chief executive said the first batch of M03 production cars has officially rolled off the line.
The pre-orders for the fully electric compact model unveiled in early July have already started.
Never Miss an Update on XPeng
Although the company promised to reveal the full pricing details in August, XPeng guaranteed that the model would start under 200,000 yuan — equivalent to $27,400.
The vehicle is equipped with XPeng’s in-house developed operating system, which supports a 360-degree panoramic camera and 3D perception map rendering.

In terms of performance, the new model will be available in two configurations, offering maximum power outputs of 140kW and 160kW.
The M03 comes with two electric motor options, delivering maximum power outputs of 140 kW and 160 kW with the range reaching 515 km or 620 kilometers thanks to the impressive drag coefficient of 0.194 — the lowest in its category.
