Xiaomi said on Saturday that its electric vehicle (EV) deliveries topped 20,000 units in February, extending its streak to five consecutive months above that mark.

The Chinese tech giant does not disclose monthly sales figures, but its latest financial report showed it delivered 39,790 units in the third quarter of 2024.

“I’m at the factory today, and we will continue expanding production capacity!” Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun wrote on the social media platform Weibo. After the recent surge in the share price of Xiaomi, Jun became China’s richest person with a net worth of over $41 billion.

The February figures come after the launch of the Ultra variant of the SU7, which secured 6,900 orders within 10 minutes and surpassed 10,000 within two hours, according to the company.

At the launch event, Lei announced that the SU7 Ultra starts at 529,900 yuan ($72,800) and is now available for purchase via Xiaomi’s official app. The company aims to position the model as the fastest four-door production car, competing with high-end brands such as Porsche.

The model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 5.86 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.

In late January, Xiaomi EV announced that it would roll out an over-the-air (OTA) software update on almost 31,000 units manufactured from February 6 to November 26.
