Tech giant and EV maker Xiaomi registered 4,400 vehicles in China between February 3 and 9, according to data revealed by Li Auto this Tuesday.
In the previous two weeks combined, the company insured 8,500 units.
The figures of NEV brands’ insurance registrations were lower last week due to the Chinese New Year Holiday that took place from January 28 to February 4, causing disruptions in both manufacturing and deliveries at the beginning of this month.

Xiaomi’s registrations have remained stable at more than 4,000 weekly units since the beginning of 2025.
Competitors
According to the data, Xiaomi ranked 6th among NEV brand last week in China. The Guangzhou-based carmaker XPeng logged 3,400 EVs, while Geely Auto’s models recorded 5,700 units.
Tesla’s numbers declined to 6,220 vehicles, with the refreshed Model Y’s deliveries starting next month.

Xiaomi SU7 x Tesla Model 3
Xiaomi, mainly known as an electronics brand, unveiled its debut EV early last year. The SU7 began deliveries in March, with prices starting at 215,900 yuan ($29,550).
For the first time in December, weekly registrations of Xiaomi’s sedan outperformed Tesla’s Model 3.
Between January 20 and February 3, the SU7 registered more than twice as many units as Tesla’s sedan.
Xiaomi’s SU7 continues to outsell Model 3 in the sixth week of the year, listing 4,400 units over 2,360.
In June last year, Tesla started China deliveries of its Model 3 Performance while the revamped Model 3 was launched in late 2023. Registration figures for the sedan marked the strongest week of the year.
Upcoming SUV
Late last year, Xiaomi announced it aims to launch its first SUV, the YU7, in “June-July”.
The latest catalogue of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revealed the specs of the vehicle. It will feature CATL-produced batteries, a five-seat configuration and it will be manufactured at Xiaomi’s EV factory in Beijing.
The pure SUV has started winter testing, as announced by Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, in a post on Weibo on Sunday. It will compete with other SUVs, such as the refreshed Tesla Model Y.
Production Ramp-up
Xiaomi’s SU7 had exceeded 100,000 delivered units by November, according to the company, completing its full-year target ahead of schedule.
Earlier this month, Xiaomi EV stated that their model surpassed 20,000 deliveries in January. In a Weibo post, the brand said it’s the fourth consecutive month reaching 20,000 units.
Xiaomi delivered 135,000 vehicles in 2024, having already reached a mark of 150,000 units.
In late January, Xiaomi announced that it would roll out an over-the-air (OTA) software update on almost 31,000 units manufactured from February 6 to November 26.
According to a statement from China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), the brand was to address a potential fault in the smart parking feature software.
Xiaomi will be providing factory tours, starting in March, the company announced earlier this Tuesday.
The visitors will be able to see the Xiaomi SU7 and its Ultra variant under production. The company’s EV factory is located in Beijing and has been awarded the “2024 Beijing Industrial Tourism Demonstration Site” honor.
Last month, Xiaomi’s single-motor variant, equipped with BYD’s LFP batteries, appeared in the latest catalog released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Meanwhile, the dual-motor version, filed last month, is listed with lithium-ion ternary batteries supplied by CATL.
