Global deliveries for Czech carmaker Skoda, part of the Volkswagen Group, surpassed a million vehicles across all powertrains last year.
The brand saw its deliveries rise by 12.7% to 1,043,900 units in 2025, marking its strongest performance in the past six years.
Skoda listed 218,700 new-energy vehicles (NEV) – or electrified vehicles, as labeled by the company – more than doubling (117%) compared to the previous year.
Of the NEVs’ sales total, 174,900 were battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), while the remaining 43,800 were plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs).
In Europe, Skoda became the third best-selling car brand, where it delivered 836,200 vehicles – a 9.9% year-over-year increase.
“In 2025, our deliveries surpassed the one million vehicle mark, making Skoda the third best-selling car brand in Europe, our core market,” Skoda‘s CEO Klaus Zellmer highlighted.
In the European market, the Volkswagen Group‘s brand growth was mainly due to the Elroq and Enyaq models’ introduction and consequent sales.
“In Europe, we achieved great success overall – especially with our new electric Enyaq and Elroq, which helped Skoda climb to fourth place among all BEV manufacturers with almost 175,000 deliveries,” the brand’s Board Member for Sales and Marketing Martin Jahn indicated.
Of the European total deliveries, NEVs represented 25.7% – one in four Skoda vehicles sold were either BEVs or PHEVs.
European Markets
Among the markets Skoda operates in, Germany remained the automaker’s largest in 2025, where it achieved 211,100 deliveries, growing 12.8% from the previous year.
BEVs accounted for 51,000 vehicles of this total, the highest result in Europe.
Germany will launch a €3 billion, equivalent to $3.5 billion, NEV subsidy program, which is designed to “kick-start electric mobility in Germany,” as stated by Environment Minister Carsten Schneider last week.
The Central European country was followed by Skoda‘s home country Czech Republic, with 91,800 vehicles – 6,000 of which were BEVs – and the United Kingdom, with 83,300 units sold.
Within Europe, Poland and France were also prominent markets for the company, with deliveries of 65,200 and 50,800 units, respectively.
The company also recorded “particularly strong gains” in the Danish and Dutch markets, with 6,800 and 5,900 more vehicles sold than in 2024, respectively.
Other Markets
Although European markets were among the strongest in terms of sales and deliveries for Skoda last year, India had the fourth-best result for the company.
After entering the Indian market in 2000, the Skoda deliveries nearly doubled to 70,600 vehicles in 2025– a 96.1% year-on-year rise.
This growth was mainly due to the newly introduced Kylaq, according to Jahn.
Skoda expanded its presence in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, with the start of the Slavia and Kushaq models’ production in Vietnam, in cooperation with its partner Thanh Cong Group.
The automaker also entered the Saudi Arabian market last November, gaining traction in the Middle East, especially in Turkey, where it delivered 45,100 units.
Additionally, Skoda also reported a growth in sales in North Africa, specifically in Morocco (+37.1%) and Egypt (+32.9%).
Best-Selling Models
Among its various models, the Octavia ranked first in terms of sales last year, with a total of 190,300 vehicles.
However, the deliveries of the C-segment family car – available in internal combustion engine (ICE), mild hybrid and PHEV versions – fell by 11.8% compared to 2024.
This model was followed by the Kodiaq mid-size crossover SUV, which rose by 13.9% to 130,400 units last year, and the Kamiq model, with 130,400 vehicles, representing a year-on-year decline of 0.1%.
Within the VW brand’s BEV portfolio, the Elroq was the best-selling fully electric model in the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Netherlands and Slovakia, reaching second place in Europe overall.
The compact SUV achieved 95,300 units across all markets in 2025.
Although the Enyaq finished seventh in Europe’s best-selling BEV models, it ranked in the top three in the Czech Republic, Finland, Switzerland, Austria and Slovakia, delivering 79,600 vehicles worldwide last year.
2026 New Models
In the first half of this year, Skoda will unveil two new BEV models: the urban crossover Epiq and the seven-seater family SUV Peaq.
The new additions will double the brand’s fully electric line-up, according to the company’s CEO.
“These vehicles will double our all-electric portfolio and make electromobility even more accessible, supported by a strong dealer network and comprehensive services that give customers confidence at every step,” Zellmer emphasized.
VW Group Sales
Last year, VW Group – which includes Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Škoda, among other brands – delivered 8.98 million units, marking a 0.5% decline compared to 2024.
BEVs accounted for roughly 11% of the yearly sales total, rising by 32% to 983,100 units.
Europe remained the Group’s largest market for BEV sales, representing 75% of all deliveries.
