Tesla‘s Full-Self Driving (FSD) software, currently on Version 14.2, has reached another milestone as a Model 3 owner reported an autonomous ride from coast to coast in the United States.
X user David Moss shared the milestone earlier this Wednesday, stating that he has completed 2,732.4 miles (4,400 km) without the system disengaging.
Moss left the Tesla Diner in Los Angeles, California, two days and 20 hours prior, and rode to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The trip was completed in a 2025 Model 3 Premium Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD).
“This was accomplished with Tesla FSD V14.2 with absolutely 0 disengagements of any kind even for all parking including at Tesla Superchargers,” Moss noted.
First to Surpass 10,000 Miles on FSD
The user posted multiple updates about his trip on X throughout its duration.
On Tuesday morning, David Moss wrote that he had crossed “10,000 consecutive miles of non rounded up actual true 100% intervention free FSD 14.2 driving.”
According to his account, the user’s vehicle became the first to drive 10,000 miles using the software without any interruptions.
“This journey has taken me to 24 states,” he stated, adding that FSD has “done all my driving for over the last month,” which includes parking and Supercharging stops.
Miles Driven Without Intervention
With a recent V14 software update, Tesla owners can now see how many miles they’ve driven using FSD.
Since then, several owners have shared milestones on FSD rides on their vehicles.
A few owners track these miles on the FSD database leaderboard at fsddb.com, a platform created by the X user and Tesla shareholder/customer Whole Mars.
According to the platform, the top-ranked user, ‘The Wis,’ drives a Model Y and has driven 17,090 miles on FSD out of 17,139 total miles, giving a 99.7% FSD engagement rate.
David Moss ranks second, with 10,638 miles driven, 100% of them on FSD.
FSD Free Trial
In late November, and aiming to increase FSD awareness among its vehicle owners, Tesla launched a free 30-day trial of the software in North America.
The trial was available to owners of all Tesla models (S, 3, X, Y, and Cybertruck) with Hardware 4 who have not purchased or subscribed to the software.
After the trial ends, US drivers can purchase the software for $8,000 or subscribe to it for $99 per month.
Additionally, new Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck purchases currently have a standard ‘Luxe Package,’ which includes features such as the FSD software.
The trial coincided with the holiday travel period, and was announced just a week after the rollout of the V14.2 update.
With FSD 14, Tesla has been releasing updates at the fastest pace yet — with new improvements each week.
By V14.3, and according to CEO Elon Musk, the car will “feel sentient.”
