A Tesla owner revealed on Tuesday that he drove 668.0 out of 668.5 miles using the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software on version 14.2, equivalent to 99.93% of the total number of miles driven.
The 14.2 update, released last Friday, introduced a feature that shows drivers what percentage of their trips were completed using FSD.
Reddit user ‘turnerm05’ shared on r/TeslaFSD that he has a score of 100% (99.93%) on his Self-Driving Stats since he updated to the latest series.
According to the post, the user “drove ~650 miles from The Woodlands, TX to 30A in Florida (Rosemary Beach area) on FSD 14.2 today,” a drive that was 100% on FSD, as an image showed.
“For me… 14.2 is a win,” he said, while still noting that “what’s interesting to me is that some folks are saying that 14.1.X was GREAT for them and now 14.2 is awful.”
The user added that “what they describe in 14.2 is what I experienced in 14.1.X and vice versa,” stating that he “100% believe[s] their accounts/reactions… it’s just baffling to me that we can each have such difference experiences.”
Parking Issues
The Tesla driver further noted that he “only took over to correct it from piss pour parking lot routing and to correct a parking job at one of the superchargers.”
Despite overall positive reviews on the road, drivers using FSD 14 still note that the software is flaky when it’s parking.
According to the Reddit user, the new update “feels like a step back” when it comes to parking accuracy and parking lot behavior.
“Parking lot routing is just a joke in 14.2. I mean… awful,” he wrote, adding that “parking selection is only slightly better than awful. And parking accuracy is… meh. Tons of room for improvement here.”
The update introduced Arrival Options, according to which owners can “select where FSD should park: in a Parking Lot, in a Parking Garage, or at the Curbside.”
FSD V14
Upon releasing the first series of Version 14 in early October, Musk wrote on X that “14.2 rolls out in a few weeks and then 14.3 a few weeks later, depending on safety testing.”
Since its launch, the v14.1 series received weekly updates that added new features — including new speed profiles — and improved performance.
In the latest release, Tesla has “upgraded the neural network vision encoder, leveraging higher resolution features to further improve scenarios like handling emergency vehicles, obstacles on the road, and human gestures.”
According to CEO Elon Musk, with FSD 14.3 the vehicle will “feel sentient.”
Earlier this month, the chief executive said that Tesla is pushing forward into full autonomy, noting that they’re just “a few months away from solving FSD Unsupervised.”
