Tesla will start deliveries of its refreshed Model Y in China on Wednesday, with the first units for other global markets, including the United States, set to follow in March.
Images and videos circulating on Chinese social media on Tuesday showed Model Y units lined up in showrooms across the country, ready for delivery.
The updated Model Y Launch Series in China is priced at 263,500 yuan ($36,350) for the base version, a 5.4% increase from its predecessor. The refreshed model offers a 3% range improvement, with the Long Range variant reaching 719 km under China’s CLTC standard.
Tesla began rolling out its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software in China earlier today, a long-awaited update that enables city navigation. The software allows vehicles to navigate intersections and change lanes based on traffic signals, speed, and road conditions—marking a significant step toward the company’s goal of full autonomy.
Europe
In Europe, Tesla has discontinued sales of the limited-edition Model Y Launch Series and introduced a standard lineup.
Customers can now choose from three updated variants: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR RWD), and Long Range All-Wheel Drive (LR AWD). Deliveries are expected between May and June, depending on the market and configuration.
In Germany, the updated Model Y pricing remains unchanged at €44,990 for the RWD variant. The Long Range RWD is now €49,990, reflecting a €1,000 increase, while the Long Range AWD has been reduced by €2,000 to €52,990.
In the UK, the RWD version is priced at £44,990 (€54,370), while the Long Range AWD starts at £51,990 (€62,820). The ‘Launch Series’ edition remains available for order on Tesla’s UK website, suggesting the company has yet to sell out all right-hand-drive units.
