Tesla continues to face a surge in targeted attacks, with the latest incident occurring in Ontario, Canada, where more than 80 vehicles were damaged at the company’s largest service center in the country.
Hamilton Police Services said the attack took place at the Tesla facility located at CF Lime Ridge Mall, where vehicles sustained deep scratches and punctured tires on customer-owned vehicles that were awaiting service. Authorities confirmed they are reviewing CCTV footage.
The recent involvement of Elon Musk in the new U.S. administration has caused dozens of protests and attacks against the brand and its vehicles across North America.
Beyond Canada, Tesla has faced a spate of similar incidents. Earlier this week, a Tesla service center in Las Vegas was attacked in an arson case now classified as a federal crime by the FBI. Commenting on the case, Elon Musk called it an act of ‘terrorism’ while condemning the attack.
Earlier this Thursday, Musk wrote on X that Tesla vehicles feature the Sentry Mode which “captures video of anyone attempting to harm it.”
“Bad news for criminals,” he added.
Last month, prosecutors in Colorado charged a woman in connection with a series of vandalism attacks on Tesla dealerships, including vehicles being firebombed and the phrase “Nazi cars” spray-painted on a building.
Musk wrote on X on March 18 that “this level of violence is insane and deeply wrong,” adding that the company “just makes electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these evil attacks.”
Last week, Tesla CEO said that the company “commits to doubling vehicle production in the US within 2 years” to “demonstrate confidence” in the future of the country.
