Tesla registrations in Germany, one of the largest European markets, fell 55% year over year in November to 2,208 units, official data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority showed on Wednesday.
Year-to-date sales stand at 33,669 units, a sharp decline of 43.6% compared to 59,681 units sold in the same period of 2023. Year-to-date sales of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in Germany have fallen by 24.2%, a decline mainly attributed to the removal of EV incentives in the country at the end of last year.

Germany recorded 244,544 new passenger car registrations in November 2024, a slight 0.5% decline compared to the same month last year, as the overall registration volume remained relatively steady.
A total of 35,167 BEVs were registered in Germany last month, a decrease of 21.8% from November 2023, reducing their market share to 14.4%. Registrations of hybrid vehicles increased 20.3% year over year to 94,554 units registered, including 20,604 plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).

Last month, Tesla has increased wages for employees at its German gigafactory outside Berlin by 4%. The company announced in October it would convert 500 temporary roles at the Gruenheide factory to permanent positions as of November 1, a move the U.S. automaker described as an “optimistic assessment of the further development of e-car production.”
