Tesla expanded its European lineup on Friday by rolling out the more affordable models it first introduced in October to several markets across the region.
The company opened orders for the Standard version of its Model 3 sedan in several markets, where the Model Y Standard had been introduced in October.
Additionally, the cheaper iteration of the crossover was launched in the UK, the first right-hand drive (RHD) market to receive it.
Standard Models Launch
Tesla had first introduced the more affordable variants of its best-selling Model 3 and Model Y in the US two months ago.
The Model Y Standard Rear-Wheel Drive, priced at $39,990, reduces the entry point by $5,000 compared to the previously cheapest Model Y available to US customers at $44,990.
The Model 3 Standard is priced at $36,990.
To achieve the lower price point, Tesla has removed several features from the Standard variants, including the rear passenger screen, glass roof, and ambient lighting.
Both Standard variants offer an estimated range of 321 miles (516 kilometers), approximately 35 to 40 miles less than the Premium versions.
Model Y Standard in Europe
In Europe, the Model Y Standard was launched just a few days later, however the Model 3 had not been included in the lineup up until this Friday.
The vehicles come equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries and include the AutoPilot feature, unlike the US version, where the feature was removed.
In the Netherlands, the base model, available as Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) only, starts at €39,990, while the Premium version is priced from €50,990 (about $59,500).
In Germany, where Tesla has established its European factory, the Model Y Standard’s prices begin from €40,970 ($47,800).
Production of the Model Y Standard started at GigaTexas in mid-October and began at Tesla’s European plant near Berlin in early November.
Model 3 Standard in Europe
The Model 3 Standard is now available to purchase or lease in Germany.
According to the website, the model is priced from €37,970 ($44,100) — or €299 per month if leasing — about €8,000 lower than the Premium RWD version, which begins at €45,970 ($53,400).
In the Netherlands, the price is about €1,000 lower for the more affordable iteration, starting from €36,990 ($43,000).
Deliveries of the model, for which the beginning of production has not yet been announced in Europe, are expected from February 2026.
Model Y in the UK
The Model Y Standard has now been added to Tesla‘s UK lineup, two months after launching in mainland Europe, as the UK is a right-hand drive market.
The entry-level variant is priced from £41,990 ($48,800), £7,000 below the Premium RWD, which starts from £48,990 ($56,900).
The model is also available to lease from £299 per month.
The company’s website lists a delivery waiting time of up to a month.
Tesla currently lists several units of the Model Y Rear Wheel Drive in its inventory, with a standard range, beginning from £44,990.
Last month, the company registered 3,772 vehicles in the UK, a sixfold increase based on October’s 511 vehicles — its lowest result year to date.
However, registrations were still below the same period a year ago by 17%.
European Sales
Tesla sold 21,542 vehicles across its European markets in November, largely driven by a new sales record in Norway since early 2023.
Sales fell 13.8% compared to the same month last year, when the company sold 24,977 EVs in the region.
Tesla’s registrations in Europe have declined significantly in 2025, despite the launch of updated models, as increased competition from other EV manufacturers weighs on demand.
