Tesla said on Monday it is offering a one-month free trial of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) (supervised) software in China. Once the trial ends, customers can purchase the feature for 64,000 yuan ($8,840).

Tesla does not currently offer FSD subscriptions in China. However, its Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) package is available via subscription for 699 yuan ($97) per month.

The company announced the trial in a software update titled “FSD Intelligent Assisted Driving Feature Limited-Time Trial Now Available.” The trial period begins Monday and runs through April 16.

Tesla rolled out FSD in China on Feb. 25 after a prolonged wait to secure regulatory approvals. In early February, the company sent engineers from its U.S. headquarters to China to deploy and optimize a localized version of FSD, local media outlet LatePost reported last month, citing sources familiar with the matter.

FSD enables vehicles to navigate intersections, change lanes based on traffic signals and speed conditions, and make other advanced driving decisions. Despite these capabilities, the system remains classified as Level 2 driver assistance under China’s national standard GB/T 40429-2021 (Vehicle Driving Automation Classification).

New Price Target

Separately, Mizuho analyst Vijay Rakesh earlier this Monday lowered the firm’s 2025 Tesla delivery forecast to 1.8 million vehicles, down from a previous estimate of 2.3 million, citing demand concerns and broader market headwinds.

Mizuho also cut its price target on Tesla stock to $430 from $515, while maintaining an Outperform rating. The new target suggests a 72% upside from Tesla’s Friday closing price of $249.98.

Tesla shares have fallen 38% year-to-date. In Europe, sales dropped 45% in January and declined 41% in the top nine European markets in February.
