Tesla Expands FSD Test Rides to Denmark and Switzerland

Tesla said Tuesday it is expanding its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) test ride program to Denmark and Switzerland, adding two new markets as the company awaits regulatory approval to deploy the software in Europe.

The expansion follows the program’s initial launch in Germany, France and Italy, and comes one week after Tesla extended the test rides through the end of March due to strong customer interest.

Participants can book free rides in Swiss cities including Geneva, Zurich, Basel and Bern through March 31, and in Danish cities including Aarhus, Odense, Ribe and Køge through April 30.

Program Extension

Tesla originally scheduled the European test rides to end on December 31 but extended availability through March after the program’s initial rollout drew significant demand.

The extension came one day after Tesla‘s EU Policy and Business Development Manager Ivan Komušanac wrote on LinkedIn that customers “who did not manage to book a slot in December” should “stay tuned as we are wrapping some Christmas presents.”

New bookings for the first quarter of 2026 are now available on the company’s website for customers in Italy, France, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland.

Tesla‘s Full Self-Driving software is currently available for drivers in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea.

Dutch Approval Timeline Disputed

Tesla is still awaiting regulatory approval for Full Self-Driving in Europe and has said it expects the Netherlands to become the first country to permit deployment of the software.

“RDW has committed to granting Netherlands National approval in February 2026,” the company wrote on X, referring to the Dutch national vehicle authority.

However, the RDW subsequently issued a statement contradicting Tesla’s characterization.

According to the regulator, approval has not been granted — the two entities have agreed only to meet in February so Tesla can demonstrate whether the system’s capabilities meet regulatory requirements.
