Tesla delivered the first units of its refreshed Model Y in the United States on Sunday, marking the debut of the updated version of the world’s best-selling car in the country.

According to a post on the Tesla Motors Club forum, the first known U.S. delivery took place in Knoxville, Tennessee, featuring a Stealth Grey exterior and an all-black premium interior.

Tesla is set to host a delivery event at its Giga Texas factory on March 8, where invited customers will receive their vehicles following a factory tour.

A drone flyover of the Giga Texas plant on Sunday showed hundreds of Model Y vehicles parked outside, indicating an increase in production ahead of deliveries to distribution centers.

Besides the limited-edition “Launch Series”, Tesla is currently selling three variants of the refreshed Model Y: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR RWD), and Long Range All-Wheel Drive (LR AWD).

As of Monday, the “Launch Series” remains available in the U.S., while Tesla stopped selling it in Europe on February 21, replacing it with a standard lineup. European deliveries are expected to begin between May and June, depending on the market and configuration.

Earlier this Monday, Morgan Stanley reiterated that it sees Tesla stock as its automotive Top Pick. The firm has a $340 price target on the shares implying an upside potential of 26% based on Friday’s closing price.

“TSLA shares are down nearly 30% YTD on a clear buyers’ strike. We reinstate Tesla as our ‘Top Pick’ in US Autos with >50% upside to our $430 price target. Bull case $800,” the analyst Adam Jonas wrote in a new note.

“TSLA FY25 deliveries could potentially decline YoY, creating an attractive entry point to our preferred embodied AI name,” he added.
