Two months after announcing that it was working with Tesla to onboard its EVs onto the Supercharger network soon, Honda and Acura said on Thursday that their EV owners will gain access to more than 20,000 selected Tesla Superchargers across the United States starting in June.

In 2024, Honda sold more than 33,000 Prologue SUVs in the U.S. and set new records for SUV, hybrid, and EV sales.

Honda joins in June several other automakers that have already secured access to Tesla’s charging network, including Lucid Motors, Volvo, GM, Ford, Rivian, Polestar, Nissan, and Mercedes-Benz.

BMW, Genesis, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, and Kia are also set to join “soon.”

“Honda-approved NACS-CCS adapters will better ensure a safe and reliable charging experience for Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX owners at Tesla Superchargers,” the company said in a statement.

Honda said its EV owners will have access to an estimated 100,000 DC fast-charging points across North America, including the Tesla Supercharger network, the newly established IONNA DC fast-charging network, as well as EVgo and Electrify America stations.

Separately, Tesla is recalling 46,096 Cybertrucks in the U.S. due to a defect that could cause an exterior panel to detach while driving, the company said in a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Thursday.
