Stellantis Group said on Monday that it registered 2,421,571 vehicles across Europe last year, a 5.99% decline from 2024.
The company’s sales accounted for 16% of the total European automotive market, including both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
Europe’s second largest carmaker – which includes 14 car brands, such as Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, among others – saw US sales drop by 3% year over year to 1,260,344 units.
Stellantis‘ Chief Operating Officer for Enlarged Europe & European Brands Emanuele Cappellano defended the company’s position as the second-largest OEM in the Old Continent.
“Despite ongoing market turbulence and clear demand weakness, at the end of its first five years, Stellantis has successfully maintained its second position among the major players in the automotive business, keeping a significant lead over trailing competitors,” the executive highlighted.
Stellantis led sales in France, Italy, and Portugal, while ranking second in Germany, Spain, the UK, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
According to the company, retail sales rose sharply compared to 2024, with a 16% increase in the fourth quarter.
The multinational automaker maintained its top place in the hybrid vehicle segment in Europe, with a 15% share.
This includes hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
The market share is driven by Citroën‘s hybrid C3 hatchback, the C3 Aircross and the C5 Aircross SUVs, the Fiat Grande Panda, among others.

Stellantis also led the commercial vehicle segment with a 28.6% market share.
The Compact Van lineup dominated with a 49.3% market share, led by the Citroën Berlingo, Fiat Professional Doblò, Opel/Vauxhall Combo, and Peugeot Partner/Rifter.
The Fiat Panda model ranked first in the A-segment, with a market share of nearly 24%, and occupied second place in the B-SUV segment.
The Peugeot 208 subcompact city hatchback and 2008 subcompact crossover SUV were among the ten best-sellers in Europe.
