Rivian’s Upcoming E-Bike Leaked in Promo Video: Report

Rivian‘s micromobility spinoff Also has accidentally revealed its first product — an electric bicycle — through a behind-the-scenes video promoting the product’s upcoming unveiling.

The EV maker’s CEO RJ Scaringe had previously stated that Also‘s first product would be an electric vehicle with one seat, two wheels, a screen, computers and a battery.

The information was first reported by Electrek on Wednesday, which spotted several frames of the bicycle in the video before the video was removed from social media.

The company had supposedly intended to hide these images by blurring them, as seen in other parts of the video.

“The images show a silver-colored electric bike with what appear to be 20″-ish wheels, front and rear suspension, and a large enclosure above the bottom bracket,” Electrek’s Micah Toll reported.

It is not clear whether the battery is removable.

Its flagship product is set to be launched “in early 2026,” according to its website.

Also has published a series of promotional videos for the unveil of the product, pointing to October 22.

However, the behind-the-scenes video in question, which was published on the company’s blog, TikTok and Instagram a week ago, has since been deleted from the platforms.

According to Electrek, it had been previously updated to “have the frames in question removed” in the blog post, before ultimately being withdrawn from the page.

Rivian revealed in late March that it has been developing fully electric lightweight vehicles, to be run through a separate company called Also Inc.

Also launched with $105 million in funding from Rivian and venture capital firm Eclipse. In July, the company has reached a valuation of $1 billion.

The post-money valuation figures came after San Francisco-based Greenoaks Capital invested $200 million into the business.

As of March, the team included about 70 employees with backgrounds at Apple, Google, Tesla, and Uber.

In late May, the company posted on its website that it has inherited capabilities “across hardware and software” from their “friends at Rivian,” which include zonal architecture, in-house motors, power electronics and custom vehicle software.

Rivian has previously said that its technology platform will be applicable to e-bikes and three- and four-wheel vehicles, like microcars.

Under Rivian, the Also team, previously called Project Inder, worked on an e-bike, which was set to be designed by former Apple chief designer Jon Ives, through his company LoveFrom.

According to TechCrunch, Rivian and LoveFrom teams collaborated on the EV maker’s first bike for about 18 months, under the leadership of Chris Yu — Rivian’s former VP of Future Programs and now President of Also.

The collaboration allegedly ended late last year.
