Rivian US Sales Rebound in November, MI Data Shows

Rivian sold 4,500 vehicles in the United States last month, according to data published by Motor Intelligence on Tuesday.

The figures represent a 14.1% increase from October’s 3,944 vehicles, as the market begins to recover from the end of the EV tax credit on September 30.

Compared to a year ago, when Rivian recorded 3,625 vehicles sold, registrations rose by 24.1%.

For the past eleven months, Rivian‘s monthly figures have increased year over year in May, October, and November, posting declines in the other eight months, according to the estimates.

Rivian‘s founder and CEO, RJ Scaringe, said earlier this year that the company expected the third quarter to be its “strongest,” anticipating weaker final months.

Full-Year Guidance

After reiterating its full-year production target of 40,000 to 46,000 vehicles in mid-September, Rivian revised that estimate a month later to a narrower range of 41,500 to 43,500 units.

Considering that it delivered 32,502 vehicles in the first three quarters, the EV maker is aiming for fourth quarter deliveries to be between 8,998 and 10,998 vehicles — fewer than the 13,201 delivered in the third quarter alone.

Estimates from Motor Intelligence suggest that the company only has to deliver between 554 and 2,554 units in December to go beyond the guidance.

Lineup and Discounts

The 2026 R1S Dual-Motor Standard variant is priced at $76,990, while the 2026 R1T pickup begins at $70,990, with a destination charge of up to $1,895 per vehicle.

Up until the end of November, the company offered $2,800 off any new R1S or R1T when customers accepted a trade-in estimate.

As we enter the final month of the year, the company is keeping financing rates as low as 1.99% annual percentage rate for 60 months on select R1 vehicles and lease offers starting at $699 per month.

The EV maker is also scheduled to launch a new color for its electric vehicles on Wednesday — nearly a year after a purple second-generation R1S was spotted in California.

The company is set to begin production of the upcoming mid-size SUV R2, which is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.

Autonomy Day

Rivian is holding its ‘Autonomy & AI Day’ event on December 11, from 9 a.m. Pacific Time.

The company is expected to provide updates on its autonomous driving platform, which founder and CEO RJ Scaringe has been teasing in several interviews recently.

A few months ago, the chief executive said the company would offer “hands-free point-to-point” capabilities in 2026 and promised to demonstrate the technology at the Autonomy Day.

Scaringe recently said “eyes-off” capabilities are “what’s coming” for Rivian owners, describing a “two-hour demo drive around essentially all of the Southern Peninsula” where the vehicle drove “completely on its own.”

Late last month, a new update on the autonomy platform began rolling out to Rivian vehicles. The company has not released patch notes detailing improvements or fixes included in the new version, however.
