Rivian to Sell Miami Edition R1S Quad at $134,990, Limited to 10 Units

Rivian is selling a limited run of 10 Miami Edition R1S Quad SUVs priced at $134,990, a $13,000 premium over the standard Quad Motor configuration’s $121,990 starting price, as the EV maker tests demand for location-specific customizations.

The Miami Edition, originally unveiled in September to commemorate the opening of Rivian‘s Miami Brickell retail space.

It features Glacier White exterior paint with aqua and pink accents, custom-painted 22-inch Miami Edition wheels, and an Ocean Coast and Driftwood interior.

The vehicles are available for purchase upon request and will be displayed at Rivian‘s Aventura and Brickell showrooms starting Thursday, December 4.

“Following resounding feedback from our community, we are releasing a limited run of ten vehicles as our latest handcrafted Studio Originals. See it on display at our Aventura and Brickell spaces starting December 4,” Rivian said Wednesday.

Pricing and Positioning

The 10.6% premium over the standard R1S Quad Motor, which delivers 1,025 horsepower, 374 miles of EPA-estimated range, and 2.6-second 0-60 mph acceleration.

Standard R1S Quad models lease from $1,729 monthly, according to Rivian‘s website, though the Miami Edition is only available to purchase.

Rivian markets the variant as capturing “the unmistakable energy of South Beach” with design elements “echoing day clubs, sun-faded signage, and ’80s nostalgia.” The company positions the limited edition as part of its Studio Originals line.

The vehicles must be requested rather than ordered directly through Rivian’s standard configuration tool, adding a layer of exclusivity to the purchase process. Rivian did not specify whether buyers can customize the Miami Edition beyond its preset configuration or whether the 10 units are already produced.

Earlier on Wednesday, Rivian unveiled a new color for both its R1 vehicles. Orders are set to open at 12 p.m. Eastern time.

“The concept was drawn from the wonder and unexpected elements of life balanced by a deep appreciation for the simple beauty found in the everyday,” the EV maker’s Director of CMF Design Sophia Park said in a statement.
