Rivian’s tumultuous year has its top executives right in the middle of it. In the last eight weeks, four executives have left the electric vehicle manufacturer.
In early July, the company’s Chief Accounting Officer Jeffrey Baker resigned and, twenty-one days later, the Chief Commercial Officer and President for Business Growth, Dr. Kjell Gruner, joined him after spending only eleven months at the company.
When leaving, both executives said they were leaving to “pursue other opportunities”.
Never Miss an Update on Rivian
Last week, the former Tesla VP and Rivian‘s Chief Communications Officer Sarah O’Brien also left the company after just over a year in the role.
The executive had joined the company in June last year and was reporting directly to the Founder and CEO RJ Scaringe.
When contacted by EV on August 14, the company said “it had nothing to comment or add” when asked to comment on the report.
On Tuesday, a brand enthusiast and owner said on X that Rivian’s Vice President of Manufacturing, Tim Fallon, has also left “to pursue other opportunities”.
“Tim was at Rivian at the critical time of ramping up EDV and R1 production in Normal, IL. Tim has been with Rivian since February of 2022 and prior to that 16 years with Nissan,” Chris Hilbert wrote on X.
Earlier this month, the company appointed Google veteran Sangsoo S. as its new Vice President of Infotainment Software, bringing significant tech expertise to the electric vehicle maker.
At the electric vehicle (EV) maker, Sangsoo will lead the Infotainment Software group which is focused on “driving innovation across platform development, system UI, AI (voice and genAI), camera systems, maps, media, and more”, according to the executive.
