Rivian Launches Year-End Promotions With Free Paint Options and Rewards Points

Rivian introduced two new promotions on Tuesday as the electric vehicle maker seeks to boost deliveries in the final weeks of the year.

The company is offering 500 Rivian Rewards points to customers who take a demo drive or request a trade-in quote and order a new R1 vehicle on the same day between December 15 and 31.

Customers must complete their purchase or lease and take delivery by December 31 to qualify, the company said on its website.

Separately, Rivian is waiving paint upgrade fees on all 2025 R1S and R1T orders placed through R1 Shop through the end of the year, allowing buyers to select any available color at no additional cost.

The EV maker founded and led by RJ Scaringe typically adjusts its promotional offers in the first days of each month.

Existing Offers Extended

The new promotions join a slate of incentives Rivian announced — or extended — earlier this month, all valid until January 1.

The company is offering $5,000 lease bonuses on select 2026 R1S and R1T configurations and up to $6,500 in savings on select 2025 models.

Leases on 2026 vehicles start at $799 per month for 36-month terms on Dual Standard configurations of both the R1S crossover and R1T pickup.

Financing rates range from 0.99% to 3.99% APR for 60 months depending on configuration and model year.

The lowest rate of 0.99% applies to Tri motor variants of both vehicles. All 2025 configurations qualify for 1.99% APR, while select 2026 models carry 3.99% rates.

Rivian is also including its All-Terrain Package at no additional cost on select new 2025 R1 vehicles, adding extra traction and underbody protection.

Lease Pricing by Configuration

For the 2026 R1S, monthly lease payments on 36-month terms range from $799 for the Dual Standard to $1,729 for the Quad motor variant. The 2026 R1T ranges from $799 to $1,709 across the same configurations.

The 2025 model year carries slightly higher monthly payments, starting at $849 for Dual Standard variants of both vehicles. The Tri motor R1S leases at $1,299 per month while the R1T Tri starts at $1,249.

Lease bonuses of $5,000 apply to Dual Standard and Tri configurations on 2026 models, with Dual Large Performance variants qualifying for $5,000 as well.

On 2025 models, Dual Large Performance and Dual Max Performance configurations receive the highest bonus at $6,500, while Dual Standard and Tri variants qualify for $5,000.

New 23-Month Record

Rivian shares jumped last week to their highest level in nearly two years — a day after the company held its AI & Autonomy Day at its Palo Alto office.

The EV maker revealed its own proprietary processor while announcing that it will be integrating LiDAR from late 2026, and also the new Autonomy+ software to rival Tesla’s (Supervised) FSD.

Scaringe clarified last week that the newly revealed autonomous driving technology is not part of Rivian‘s $5.8 billion technology partnership with Volkswagen Group.

Cláudio Afonso founded CARBA in early 2021 and launched the news blog EV later that year. Following a 1.5-year hiatus, he relaunched EV in April 2024. In late 2024, he also started AV, a blog dedicated to the autonomous vehicle industry.
