Rivian appointed Greg Revelle to its new role of chief customer officer, as it prepares to launch its more affordable R2 SUV.
The EV maker said on Monday that Revelle will oversee the customer journey, leading its go-to-market strategy, including sales, marketing, and operations, effective immediately.
“We are excited that Greg is bringing his deep experience across eCommerce, marketing and automotive to Rivian,” said RJ Scaringe, Rivian‘s founder and CEO. “Greg has a proven track record of leading large teams in a dynamic environment.”
The chief customer officer position appears to evolve from the chief commercial officer role previously held by Kjell Gruner, who resigned in July 2024 after less than a year in the job.
Gruner, a former president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, had managed sales, marketing, customer care, delivery service, and fleet operations.
Following his departure, Dagan Mishoulam took over commercial responsibilities as senior vice president.
Revelle joins Rivian from Revatek, a battery charging solutions startup he founded in 2024 focused on helping outdoor enthusiasts stay off-grid longer through mobile power systems technology.
Prior to founding Revatek, Revelle served as chief commercial officer at Cap Hill Brands from 2022 to 2024, where he led global sales, merchandising, marketing, and product development before selling the business to Juvo+ after scaling it to profitability.
Separately, Revelle has served as a board member at Cars.com since 2017.
Revelle holds an MBA in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Princeton University.
The executive’s appointment follows a recent change to Rivian’s board of directors.
BoD Update
Rose Marcario, former chief executive officer of Patagonia Inc., resigned from Rivian’s board effective January 1 to “focus on other commitments,” the company said on December 20.
Marcario had served on the board since January 2021 and chaired its Planet & Policy Committee.
The appointment announced on Monday comes as Rivian prepares to produce and launch the R2, a five-passenger SUV built on the company’s midsize platform scheduled to hit the market in the first half of this year.
Q4 and 2025 Performance
Rivian delivered fewer than 10,000 vehicles in the final quarter of 2025, with the figures including both passenger EVs and its fully electric delivery van co-developed with its main backer, Amazon.
Quarterly production stood at 10,974 vehicles — 1,229 units above the 9,745 EVs delivered to customers between October and December.
In 2025, the company founded and led by RJ Scaringe manufactured 42,284 vehicles while delivering 42,247.
Wolfe Research downgraded earlier on Monday its rating on Rivian shares to Underperform, anticipating a “deteriorated” setup for the EV maker.
In a new research note obtained by PriceTarget, analyst Emmanuel Rosner said he continues to be cautious on the stock due to weaker fundamentals and higher cash burn.
