MKBHD Leaks 2026 Rivian R1T Quad Motor, Deletes Post Shortly After

Tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee, known as MKBHD, inadvertently revealed Rivian’s upcoming 2026 R1T Quad Motor pickup on Sunday.

In a short-lived video posted on social media platform X, MKBHD offered an early glimpse of several design changes to Rivian’s forthcoming model, before swiftly removing the post.

The clip showed key exterior and performance details of the refreshed electric truck, including Rivian’s new NACS (North American Charging Standard) port positioned on the front left side.

The video confirms that the company will adopt Tesla’s charging connector across all 2026 model-year vehicles.

The electric vehicle maker disclosed its decision to adopt the NACS charging standard in June 2023, following similar moves by Ford and General Motors earlier that year.

The 2026 Quad R1T shown featured a new 22-inch “Ultra High Performance” wheel configuration, a returning “Launch Green” paint color exclusive to the Quad trim, and distinctive teal-colored badging and brake calipers.

The 2025 Quad trim of the R1T was launched in early June last year.

The 2025 Quad-Motor variant of the R1T delivers 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque in Launch Mode, enabling 0 to 60 mph acceleration in under 2.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 10.5 seconds.

Brownlee, who has over 20 million subscribers on YouTube, briefly commented in the video that a full review is on the way.

As it gears up to introduce its R2 and R3 models next year, Rivian has brought on board Kyle Ness, formerly the chief engineer of Lucid’s second model, the Gravity.

Ness announced this week that he is joining Rivian as Senior Director of Vehicle Programs, based in Irvine, California.

Cláudio Afonso founded CARBA in early 2021 and launched the news blog EV later that year. Following a 1.5-year hiatus, he relaunched EV in April 2024. In late 2024, he also started AV, a blog dedicated to the autonomous vehicle industry.
