Renault Group’s Global BEV Sales Jump 77% in 2025

Renault Group said on Tuesday that it sold more than 2.3 million vehicles worldwide across all powertrains last year, posting overall growth across its Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands.

The French group registered a total of 2,336,807 units, a 3.2% increase compared to 2024.

Of the total sales result, 1,628,030 vehicles were from its main Renault brand.

The group’s cheaper brand, Dacia, saw its sales rise by 3.1% to 697,408 units.

Alpine more than doubled its figures to 10,970 units, exceeding the 10,000 units mark for the first time.

Amidst the Renault Group‘s continuous “electricfication offensive in Europe”, the group sold approximately 400,000 hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and roughly 194,000 battery-electric vehicles (BEV) last year.

New-energy vehicles (NEV) represented a quarter of all the company’s deliveries. While sales of HEVs grew 35.1% compared to 2024, BEV figures jumped 76.7% year over year.

Renault Brand NEV Sales

Last year, the main Renault brand registered 287,000 hybrid vehicles, representing a 17% year-on-year increase and 38.4% of the brand’s total passenger car sales.

Consequently, the French automaker became the second-strongest brand in the European hybrid vehicle market, with the Symbioz compact SUV being its best-selling model.

BEV sales grew 72.2% to a total of 151,939 deliveries, driven by the urban Renault 5 E-Tech, the second best-selling BEV on the European retail market.

Currently, fully electric vehicles represent 20.2% of Renault‘s passenger car sales.

Renault is a best-in-class generalist brand in terms of CO₂ emissions, with two-thirds of its sales electrified (EV and HEV), while Dacia is accelerating in hybrid,” Renault Group’s Chief Growth Officer Fabrice Cambolive stated.

Sub-brands

Dacia – which reached 10 million vehicles cumulative sales – registered over 113,000 hybrid vehicles last year, accounting for 19.2% of its total deliveries.

These figures marked a 121.7% increase year over year, mainly due to its Duster and Bigster SUVs.

Alpine entered the NEV industry in June 2024, with the launch of its first fully electric model, the fully electric A290 — which accounted for 8,198 units sold last year.

The newest addition to the premium brand’s BEV lineup is the A390 five-seat sport fastback, which was unveiled last May.

As it prepares its “future expansion and electrification”, Alpine confirmed that the fully electric version of the A110 two-seat sports coupé will debut in the first half of this year.

Europe and Other Markets

In Europe, Renault Group ranked among the top three automakers, selling 1,607,848 vehicles.

France, its domestic country, was its strongest market globally in 2025. There, the automaker sold 533,692 vehicles.

Italy ranked second with 186,158 units, while Spain trailed with 174,135.

Dacia’s Sandero and Duster – sold in select markets as Renault Duster – and the Renault Clio compact ranked among the top five in the retail segment.

Outside Europe, specifically, the Renault brand saw its sales grow 11.7%, driven by a significant increase in South Korea – where its deliveries rose by 55.9% –, Morocco (44.8%), and Latin America (11.3%).

2026 Plans

For this year, Renault Group plans to “renew and enlarge its internal combustion and electric offer” in the Old Continent.

The Renault brand is set to roll out the new Clio and Renault 4 E-Tech, followed by the commercial launch of the new variant Twingo E-Tech.

Dacia will introduce a new A-segment EV to its portfolio, as well as debuting a new internal combustion engine (ICE) & hybrid unit in the C-segment.

The brand is set to debut an electric minicar in the second quarter, based on the Renault Twingo.

The model is expected to be priced around €18,000 ($21,120), matching the Dacia Spring compact.

The Group also aims to accelerate global growth via new model rollouts, including the Renault Boreal in Latin America and Turkey, Duster in India, Filante in South Korea and overseas markets, and a new pickup for Latin America.
